The morning was uneventful. Scooby had calmed down, and the gang agreed to meet up everyday for lunch. Fred got ready and made his way towards his first ever college class.
He was walking outside, looking for the building, but he found himself getting lost. He looked around and decided to ask another student for directions. He walked up behind them and tapped them on the shoulder. "Hey there, I'm new here, and I'm a bit lost. Could you point me towards the Robinson Building?" he asked nicely.
The tall guy turned around and looked Fred up and down with a scowl on his face. "You're new, are you?" he asked in a deep, intimidating voice, "What's your name?"
"I'm Fred Jones," he replied with a hint of nervousness as he held out his hand for him to shake, "And you are?"
"The name's Richie Smith," he looked down at Fred's hand but didn't shake it, "Just stay outta the way and you won't get hurt." With that, Richie stomped off in the other direction.
"Wait! You didn't-" Fred yelled after him but then got quiet, "Tell me where the building is." I wonder what his problem is, Fred thought to himself. He sighed and looked around. He spotted a nearby map and found his way to the Robinson Building. He sat down just as the professor walked in.
"Hello class!" his voice boomed, "Welcome to marketing, where we will be learning all about the ins and outs of showing off a product! I'm your professor, Mark Ating. You will call me Mr. Ating. Before you say anything, my name is neither ironic nor funny, and there will be no jokes about it."
Fred elbowed the guy next to him. "Gee, the professor sure seems uptight, doesn't he?" he chuckled. The student rolled his eyes in response.
The professor continued, "If you think this going to be an easy class... then you're wrong. This class will take every drop of energy you hold in your weak little bodies!"
The class erupted in mumbling, a bit frightened at this point. "At the end of each semester, there is an exam. If you fail that exam, you are out of the program," he snapped, "So, be prepared. Class dismissed."
People mumbled to each other more and began to exit the classroom. They were all a bit intimidated now. The teacher was certainly creepy.
Fred was walking towards the exit when he accidentally bumped into the person in front of him. The student turned around. "I'm so sorry!" Fred apologized and smiled nervously.
The kid growled and pushed him backwards. Fred bumped into the line behind him and created a domino effect down the aisle. One by one the students fell to the floor, with Fred at the end of the line. Mr. Ating glared at Fred. Everyone got up also glaring at Fred. They grumbled angrily as they walked out, leaving Fred with Mr. Ating. He looked angry.
"Jones, was it?" Mr. Ating asked, tapping his foot and looking at his clipboard, uninterested.
"Yes sir," Fred said with a positive tone. He was terrified on the inside.
"Hmm, your parents were great trap makers in their day," he looked up at Fred again, "I expect more from you. Don't let me down."
"Yes sir!" Fred nodded and smiled.
"Mmhmm," the professor sighed. He walked away, still some how looking frightening.
Fred shrugged and walked out of the classroom. The people here sure are uptight, he thought. He made his way over to the cafeteria.
