The pendulum swings like a giants stride, each swing shaking the very world we know.
Tyranny and hope are it's weapons, we know them both too well, and seek them like friends.
Each time we stand, it seeks to strike us down, seemingly in fear of when our bell may chime.
The mountains may crumble, the seas may turn to dust, and our lives may vanish, but the wind will still blow.
We will still stand, no matter the state of our minds, until the fatal and mortal blow.
No matter what it gives, and no matter what it takes, for they our lives are lessons, sent from the Father, time.

Spotlights shone on the monstrous hulk that held James in it's fist, smooth black shining in the dusky light, neon green highlights and emblems adorning much of the beast as it stared at James with a single, gigantic eye that made up it's entire torso, the light emitting from it nearly blinding from him as it spoke in a disheveled manner.
"Such a tasty morsel can never hide from meeeeeeeeeeee!"
It rambled on deafeningly, the sound matching the intensity of the light that shone, overriding the spotlights that nearby police swung around, trying merely to glimpse at the creature, but being foiled on most attempts. It stood on a tripod of bumpy legs, lines of the same green running the entire length, becoming circles around the joints where emblems were, a single hand sprouting from the top of the eye that stared at James, who could hardly comprehend his situation.
"My luck..." The creature moved him around harshly, causing the crushing feeling around him to grow, and be combined with sickening nausea. "... will never change."
He thought about wanting to be let go by the monster, and how he could achieve that. Purple liquid covered his entire body, surging outward into spikes that pierced the fist which had held him, causing it's owner to reel in surprise and pain, dropping James to land flat on his back below as the creature crushed the abandoned household that had stood behind it.
"Oooooooooooooh, so thaaaaaaaat is why you smeeeeell so goooooood. You hold the lassssst wavelengtthhhhhhhh that my laster looooks for." It chuckled to itself in giddy way, the eye that made up most of its body shifting around violently, before it shined brightly, the entire bulk of the creature turning the same neon green that made up most of itself already, and melted into the ground, it's laughter still echoing in the area.
James slowly recovered, standing shakily on his feet, the liquid that covered him receding as the police officers all stood aghast as they looked at him, all frozen in confusion and fear. "Wait... what... just happened to me? An eye?"
Bright green vines poked from the ground, wrapping around James' legs as the ground opened up beneath him, giant green teeth adorning the edges of a massive mouth that revealed itself below him, the same enlarged eye staring at him with glee from the center.
"No, just please tell me I'm DREAMING HERE!!!" He screamed as he was slowly pulled down to his doom, the light from the eye below showing the way to his death. "Plants... I always hated gardening!" He said as he disappeared below the ground, the very asphalt of the road closing when he passed.
