Brian's POV

I woke up early Friday morning. I won't lie, it was because I was excited, excited to be spending the weekend away with Alia. Just me and her, being us. I couldn't wait.

I spent the morning packing. We were getting away really early in the morning and I decided it would be better if Alia just spent the night here. I was looking forward to that as well, but I was going to behave myself. I'd promised her no sex, and I would keep my word until she was ready. Although the way she was wiggling around on my lap last night I was pretty sure she was just teasing me now. Oh well, hopefully this weekend we'd get a little intimate time in.

I finished packing, then I grabbed a drink, sitting down. I needed to call Flick, but I was avoiding it. Well she still wasn't particularly talking to me and how the hell would I tell her I wouldn't be around this weekend? She'd know Alia was going away and if I said the same, well she might put two and two together.

Honestly, I wasn't keen on leaving Flick for a few day's on her own. There'd be no one at the house and she'd be all alone. God, if something happened I'd never forgive myself.

"Stop." I muttered to myself. Flick was an adult and like Alia said, I needed to start treating her like one.

I decided to call her anyway, let her know and try my hardest to treat her like an adult, as hard as that would be.

"Hello." She answered and softly and good, she sounded a lot more calmer than the last time I spoke to her.

"Hey Flick." I said. "How are you?"

She sighed. "Okay." She said, but her voice said differently, she sounded more than okay.

"What's up?' I asked her, attempting to sound casual.

She sighed again. "Oh you know, Alia is going away for the weekend and stuff."

"Oh she is?" I asked, trying to sound surprised. "Shit, I'm not going to be around much this weekend either, will you be okay?"

"Yes Brian." She mumbled. "I think I'll be fine."

"I mean I could postpone if you like." I offered, even though I wasn't postponing for anyone, it was an offer that I knew Flick wouldn't take up.

"Don't be ridiculous Brian" She told me and I smiled. "Besides I might hang out with some friends anyway."

I frowned. "What friends?"

"No one you know." She said quickly, a little too quickly.

"Fuck Flick." I snapped. "Please tell me you are not back with Noah." Just the thought of that guy soured my mood.

"No Brian." She said. "I am not back with Noah, okay?"

"Good." I muttered. "You deserve better." And my sister deserved the best.

"I agree." She said softly and I couldn't help but smile.

"So anyway." I said. "What's Alia up to this weekend?" As if I didn't know.

"Oh I don't know." She mumbled. "Going away with a friend or something."

"You working?" I asked her.

"Nope." She said and I could hear her smiling. "I actually have the weekend off."

"Lucky you." I told her and damn, she was going to be home alllllll weekend by herself.

"Anyway Brian." She suddenly said. "I better let you go."

"Yep, so call me if you need anything." I told her. "And we'll catch up next week."

"Okay, have fun." And she was gone.

I put my phone down frowning. She was going to be alone all weekend and yeah I knew she was an adult, but still the thought bothered me.

I picked up my phone again. I had an idea, an idea for someone to keep an eye Flick for me and I also knew this person wouldn't make it obvious they were looking out for me, which was an added bonus.

"Matt." I said as soon as he answered. "Where have you been?"

"Oh what." He mumbled. "Um, busy."

"Haven't we all." I said ignoring him stuttering over his words. I wasn't sure what his problem was. "So anyway." I went on. "I have a little favour to ask?"

"Um yeah sure." He said, sounding a bit better. "What's up?"

"Well." I explained. "I have a few things going on this weekend so I'm going to be pretty busy and I just found out Alia is going away for the weekend."

"She is?" He snapped, obviously unaware. Thank fuck he didn't know she was going with me.

"Apparently." I told him. "I just spoke to Flick."

"Hmm." He muttered. "I wonder where she's going?"

"No idea." I said. "But listen, do me a favour and keep and eye on Flick for me, just check in on her a few times." I'd feel better knowing Matt was looking out for her.

"Yeah." He said softly. "I can do that for you."

"Thanks man." I said. "I really appreciate it, if I can do anything for you just name it."

"It's really not a problem Brian." He said. "I might see if she wants to hang out or something."

"Yeah Matt." I snapped. "I asked you to check on her, not date her."

He chuckled, but it sounded a little weird. "Yeah fine, okay."

"Just check thanks." I muttered hanging up. The last thing I needed was him taking my sister out and now I was kind of sorry I'd asked him.

Nope, I thought finishing up my last little bit of packing. I was going to concentrate on Alia and Alia alone. Thinking Matt would touch Flick was a dumb idea anyway, they were so completely opposite it was ridiculous and I couldn't help but laugh. Just the idea of them was pretty funny, nope I knew Matt wouldn't go there and besides he respected me too much.

I sounded like a hypocrite, I knew that, but Alia was different to Flick, she was mature, worldly, Flick was so soft and gentle and she thought everything in the world was good and I wanted her to continue thinking that, nothing would hurt my sister while I was around.

Alia, her name brought a smile to my lips and it wasn't long until she came over after work. I was happy, our weekend away had officially started.

"Dinner, then bed." I told her, kissing her softly. "We have an early start in the morning."

She nodded, kissing me back. "Yes we do." She whispered, running her finger down my neck.

Yep, enough of that. I was going to stay true to my word and I was so proud of myself that I did, because later, after dinner, when we'd both climbed into bed, I just held her, watching her fall asleep. Sure I wanted to do things to her, a lot of fucking things, but god, just watching her sleep was enough for now.
