Chapter 4

No more eavesdropping dear Jazz.

You don't want another nightmare.

I woke up as a sweaty mess on my bed. My midnight hair stuck to my forehead, perspiration still keeping it intact. My tongue and lips dry. I must have also been shaking- my sheets were all over the floor.

Sams voice.

"No more eavesdropping dear Jazz. You don't want another nightmare."

Oh my god. I shivered all over.

Honestly I felt I bit creeped out. Number 1, how did she know I was slightly eavesdropping and I was having a nightmare?

Number 2, was I going ever slightly insane?

And of course the reliable number 3, Did I actually hear her voice?

I shuddered at the thought of her knowing what I did. She might be my brothers girlfriend, but I felt weirded out.

I was guessing it was my silly mind speaking, traumatising my brain to think horrible thoughts. I am so good at making myself happy (note the sarcasm.)

I decided to carry on with my day and pretend it never happened. But I knew I'd be thinking about it all day, still trying to get it out of my head.

I raced downstairs like I always do, trying to wake my energy levels up. I walk into the living room, my brother fully laid on the couch flicking through channels.

"Hey" I spoke in a groggy voice.

"Hey you sound horrible, are you ok?" He said facing me, looking concerned.

"Thanks that's what a girl wants to hear everyday" I say bugged by his question.

His concern spread across his face, looking very serious.

"Really are you feeling ok?"

He asked again.

"Yes I'm fine.. why?"

"You don't look well or sound good."

I walk across to the hallway mirror.

I was pale like I just came out of the North Pole.

My lips were dead blue and my heart pounding hard against my chest. I felt a headache coming on.

So much for going to school on sports day. One of my favorite days of the year.

I lay in bed watching movies on my brothers spare laptop. I occasionally ran back and forward to the bathroom. I'd rather be doing high jump or sprints right now. I sigh closing my eyes in anger and tiredness.

Why does everything bad happen to me! What did I do wrong?

I yawned loudly and rest my eyes. Before I knew it I was dozing off while the movie "avatar" was running.
