The Changes of The Bad Girl *EDITING*

Chapter 1

I open my locker, trying not to drop my "tower" of books. I throw them in and grab my journal and history textbook.
I get to school early to meet up with my friend, Andrew, and study for tomorrow's Science test.
So, hi. I'm Katherine Genevieve. I'm in 10th grade at Riverdell High.
I walk down the hall and enter the library, making my way towards the middle table.
"Hey, Andrew."
He looks up from his textbook and smiles. "Hey, Katherine. Ready to study?"
"Yep." I grab my Science textbook and notes out of my bag and drop them on the table.
He looks back down at his textbook, pushing up his glasses. He's got short, brown hair and light brown eyes. He's scrawny with thin, rimmed glasses and has a few pimples scattered on his nose. He glances at me and chuckles. "Will you stop staring at me and start studying?"
I laugh. "Ok, so we can start on pg.96 in our textbook."
"Sounds good."

I start packing up my stuff. "I'll see you in Math?"
He grabs his bag. "Yep. See ya later, Katherine."
I sigh. Andrew and I have been best friends since 7th grade. We've always been nerdy... that's mostly the reason we get along. Personally, I think he's more of a geek then anything. Let's just say his bedroom wall is full of Star Wars, Marvel, Pokémon, and Legend of Zelda.
The sound of the warning bell breaks the silence. Crap! I grab my bag and rush out, bumping into someone. "Sorry!"
I look up and meet a glaring icy blue gaze. Zackary Nelson. He has bright blue eyes with specks of green and short brown hair. His eyes softened and flicked with amusement.
I look back down and make my way around him, walking into the hall.

I walk to my locker and grab my Math notebook. I enter my math class and sit next to Andrew. "Hi."
He smiles, "Hey."
"Attention, class. I'm Ms. Carter. I'll be your substitute today. I'll take attendance. Bradley?... Curtis?... Franklin?... Genevieve?..."
I raise my hand.
"Jenkins?... Johnston?... Kaiser?... Levy? Nelson?.....Nelson?"
We all look at the back. Zackary's seat is empty.
"Is Zackary not here? Alright, moving on. McCurdy?... Parker?...Peterson?... Reynolds?..."
Andrew raises his hand.
"Ryder?.. Stevenson?... Thom-"
Zachary enters the class and walks to his seat.
"You must be Mr. Nelson. Glad you can join us. I see you have an astounding tardy list."
He glares. "Well I googled 'who gives a shit?', but my name didn't come up in the results sooo..." He looks away.
Ms. Carter clears her throat. "Ok, well. I'll hand out the algebra activity problems your teacher gave me."
I look over my shoulder at Zackary. He's wearing a white shirt and leather jacket. He's about a few inches taller then me. 5"8/5"9?
Suddenly he meets my gaze. I quickly turn around and look back down at my paper.
"You ok?"
I glance at Andrew. "Ya. I'm fine."
Am I?

The final bell rings and I make my way out of the class. Walking down the hall, I like I'm being watched. I look up and to see Britney Edwards glaring at me and whispering to her boyfriend, Jake Howard. I look back down and start walking toward the entrance. All of a sudden, I felt something hard hit my head. I fell down and grabbed the back of my head in pain. The hall is filled with laughter. I look up to see people gathered in the hall pointing and snickering. Britney smirks and turns around walking away, pulling Jake with her. My eyes fill with tears. I hurriedly grab my bag and run to the bus stop, not looking back.
