We all die someday, it's just a cold, hard fact of life. I was beginning to think I was dead and somehow I was in purgatory. Everything seemed so real though and i still had all of my senses. I thought of all the bad things I had done but just ended up pushing everything to the back of my head. I had to deal with the present and if my mind drifted elsewhere I had no chance of getting back home.

That was when I saw her again, and this time she looked human. She was beautiful with baby blue eyes and soft skin. We gazed at each other from afar and she smiled revealing pearly whites. She introduced herself, "Hey Edgar, my name is Fate. I can't believe you actually found me."

I felt so many emotions at once but only showed my curiousity. I asked "Where am I and how did I get here?"
She said,"Can't you see you're in purgatory. You're one of the only humans who has ever made it through that fall alive. Well, at least other than me." "How were you able to contact me?" I asked. "What you saw was my soul, tainted because of everything i've seen and been through here. But don't worry I won't let that happen to you." she replied. "Are you trying to say my soul is pure, I mean i'm not exactly an angel." "Everything you've done has been out of bravery or to survive so yeah you do have a 'pure soul.'"

Fate explained that she needed someone with my survival skills to escape and that she'd been trapped there for about 100 earth years but had not aged. There was a cursed treasure in the middle of the ever-burning flame that she was tethered to but no one had succeeded in taking it out. I said, "How can you be so sure i'm the person for the job." "She kissed me and said, "I have faith in you."

She was a good kisser with her nice soft lips and...anyways back to the story. We didn't talk much afterwards and just started walking into the city of gold. As we got closer, the buildings became ruins and a horrid stench grew. Then I saw the souls, a few at first and then thousands. They tried to grab us and extinguish the life we had but before they could Fate gave me a disgusting drink to keep them away. We walked through a crowd of hungry souls untouched until one in particular stood out to me.

On the map, I could see this entire area and a picture of a sword directly in front of me. At first I saw nothing but then I stood above it and the ground slightly sunk. Then right beneath me I saw the sword and in front of me stood the soul who just didn't fit in. At that very moment, he hissed at me and grew into an 8-foot tall beast. I knew exactly what I had to do.
