school

|fast forward to the third week of school|

I woke up to find Nash shaking me, "What, its so early!"

"Your gonna be late, and your brother's coming back, but I'm still gonna stay here a while," he said pulling me onto the floor.

"Okay! Okay! I'm up!" I said defensively.

He left the room and I picked out my outfit, I put on some black joggers, the black and red sweatshirt Jacob gave me, and my black high-tops. I brushed my straight hair and headed downstairs to grab a doughnut. I grabbed my backpack and my skateboard and hugged Nash goodbye. I headed outside, dropped my skateboard and made my way to school.

I finally arrived at school and walked to my locker to cram my skateboard inside. Jacob walked over, "Need any help?" I turned around shutting my locker, "Nope, I finally got it in there." He nodded and interlocked his hand in mine as we walked to class together. We went through all our morning classes together and then hit lunch. We sat with our regular friends until one came with the new girl.

Apparently she was a huge fan, and kept ranting on and on about how much she loved him. Savvy finally said oh this is Nikki, she's Jacob's new girlfriend. This made the new girl Brittney frown,"oh, hey, nice to meet you Nikki."

Jacob crossed his arms and looked down the rest of the lunch. He didn't say much all day, but for some reason he started talking to Brittney again. The same thing happened for the next few days leading up to the last Friday before Thanksgiving Break. I finally pulled him over and got him to myself. 

"Hey Jacob, you haven't talked to me at all these past few days, you haven't even texted me!!! I'm starting to think you like Britney! Do you think we need to take a break or what! I'm giving you another change to redeem yourself!"

He looked deep into my eyes, "I've been wondering the same thing, I really like Brittney, but I like you too. I think we should take a break..." I nodded and ripped my hands from his grabbing my skateboard and rushing off, riding to my house. I didn't look back not even once. I rolled through the door and closed it, greeting my brother and Nash. 

Dylan grabbed the back of my hoodie, "Hey your gonna go to Arizona with our aunt for Thanksgiving Break, I'm gonna fly out that Wednesday before so I can get there before four that night."

I nodded, "Cool, am I heading out tomorrow?" He nodded, "Yeah I need to drive you to your flight tomorrow."

I ran up the stairs into my hot room, I opened the window all the way, even though Jacob's window was open also. I put my earbuds in and blasted my music while I rushed around the room packing a suitcase. I finished within the hour and closed my window since it was getting cold. I ran downstairs ate a quick bite of dinner and went upstairs.

I'm sorry about earlier

Okay? Look I won't be available this weekend and next week, I'm visiting my aunt in Arizona.

Oh, I had a question

Since we're taking a break, can I have my sweatshirt back?

Seriously!?

Um, yeah just hand it over through the window.

Ugh fine!!!!

I opened the window and greeted Jacob, I handed him the sweatshirt with tears in my eyes. He smiled a sympathetic smile and tossed it on his bed, we left our windows open since it was hot. He kept looking at me with regret as I climbed out my window and onto the roof to my spot. I watched the sun set before I climbed back inside slamming the window. 

I plopped on my bed and listened to music as I drifted off to sleep. Then my phone blew up.

Yeah we visit her every Sunday for dinner and swimming.

I'm actually going down there for Thanksgiving Break!

I drifted off to sleep thinking about how great this break was gonna be. I still felt horrible about Jacob tho, least we didn't break up, we're both just on break......
