Before Yona, let's go over the happenings in my world (also by extention, your world) and my anime discoveries. I think this will be a new thing from now on. So without further ado:

Previously on avatar...

People who write sinbad magi fanfic...

....Are seriously messed up.
I mean reeeaaallllllllllllyyyyyyy bad.
Don't get me wrong, I'm the first person to ship any two living beings in a story. I'm shamefully shipptastic 😉. But that's a whole new world of disturbing...on many, many levels.

Also, red data girl was kinda sucky.  I'm not sure if it was just me or what but I didn't like it all that much.

Yeah....the guy was a douche. And not the sweet kinda douche like haru in my little monster (which may be discussed tomorrow) but the kinda douche where you wanna smack the living daylights outta the kid.

I didn't like the female lead too much either.

Alright. That's just about it. Now to Yona.

So Yona of the dawn is a pretty cool anime. It's about this princess who due to "unfortunate circumstances" is forced to leave her castle with her bodygaurd, Hak.  At that point I stopped caring about Yona and focused more on him (you would too)
😆 and the two spent a few rather slow episodes on the run. Eventually the show picks up speed and she meets the dragons who are to aid her in her reconquest of her kingdom.

But Hak tho'

Seriously, the picture for this chapter is him. I'm sorry Yona. The show is aimed towards girls....

The writer knew what they were doing.

Anyways, it's actually a really cool story line and it's a show I would watch over again. It's not technically a romance anime but you know that ship done did sailed ages ago.

They do do all star wars with the whole 'is good really good' vs 'is evil really evil' as the main antagonist has a compelling back story and his actions do actually help the kingdom.

It's a pleasant coming of age story and it's definitely got some of those spine-tingling moments of sheer anime awesomeness.

I don't remember the season 2 release date but I envy the future me who can watch it.

But definitely watch the show. It's pretty awesome. Kinda slowish in the beginning but...suck it up😎.

It does have an original storyline buuuuuuut even this amazing work has succumbed to some of the most annoying anime stereotypes.

1. Red hair.

Why.

I get it. Red is the color of fortune and scientifically speaking, it does actually increase ones heart rate by an imperceptible amount...

But not when you have a natural Green haired person standing 2 feet away! That's not ok.

They be talking on and on about how her hair is special and some guy with green hair shows up..

Nada

Blue hair...

Zip

Red hair?

The world explodes.

Also, I would criticize Hak's weapon, the stereotypical 'spearish-thingy' but as I mentioned before..

Author-san knew what she was doing.

Daily revelation:

When you realize you're older than usui takumi😭. romance animes gotta stop being put in high school. Pretty soon I'll be aging out of that 'can still relate and would actually have a shot with this bishie in real life' to the 'you would be the creepy pedo in episode 5 that SOMEHOW still manages to trick the girl into your grasp despite that obviously suspiciously ugly face'

I pity you future me.

I truly do.

That's all folks!

Tune in next time for....who knows. Well see.
