Chapter 3

Ashley

After Eddie introduced his son to me we went back downstairs to the living room. Lila then started walking towards me. She held out her arms for me wanting me to carry her. I picked her up and sat her on my lap. "How's my baby girl?" I made funny faces making her giggle and smile. "Ashley?" I turned around to see May. She smiled and was about to say something until Cinnamon Roll came in and interrupted her. "Aye, May when dinner is about to start? I'm hungry as hell!" "Dinner is starting in a few, I made a little special plate for Lila." Lila got herself off me and started walking towards to May as they both went to the kitchen. Crescent Roll just staring at me. I smiled at him and he just went back to his room.

"Okay y'all dinner is ready! Ashley hers your plate." She gave me my plate and I smiled at her saying thank you. I went to the kitchen sitting down. The boy came and got his plate. "Get to know her." She whispered to him. He nodded and said yes mam and sat down next to me. "Ashley right?" He asked me. I turned to him and nodded my head. "Nice. What school you go to?"

"I haven't been in school for awhile." I said biting my chicken. This shit is sooo good!! "Is it because you've been taking care of your sister?" He thought Lila was my sister? "She's my Daughter.." i corrected him. He looked at her then at me. "How old are you?" He asked. "I'm 17 I know im young but I didn't expect this to happen. It's a very long story."

"You don't have to tell me Ashley. When we become close friends and you can trust me, then you can tell me." I smiled and nodded. He's really nice then I expected. I thought he was going to be mean but actually he's kind. "Thanks for understanding." He smiled and continued eating his food. Lila was already done with her food. She had food all over her lips. I grabbed a napkin and wiped her face. "She's cute. Look just like you." I turned back at him and said "Thank you."

"How old is she?" He is asking to many questions, but he's trying to get to know me right? "2."

"So you had her when she was 15?!" He was surprised. "Yeah. It was pretty hard for me. I had no one except for my boyfriend until he assumed I was cheating and kicked me out." "That's wrong to do that." I nodded with agreement. "Well your here and safe with us. If you need anybody to talk to. I'm here Ashley. I have a feeling we gone be good friends here. You good though?" He asked me. I nodded "I'm okay now. Thanks Chresanto." He nodded and said goodnight. Lila was already tired. I picked her up and we went upstairs to our bedroom.

I can't believe this is happening. Sleeping in a peaceful bed, eating good, dressed good, etc. someone really cares Lila & I.

May"s Pov

I woke up at 6:30 every morning because it's my job. I live right down the street so there's no need to drive. I got the key and unlocked the door quietly trying to not disturb nobody. Starting to make breakfast I got out the pancake batter and the whisk.

"Chresanto, baby get up its time for you to go to school now, ya don't want to be late." He finally woken up. He got out of the bed and started getting ready. "There's breakfast on the table if you want some." I left and went to the Ashley's room. I opened the door to see her sleeping heavy and Lila was just sitting up. "Aww, you must be hungry." She held her hands up as I picked her up quietly carrying her on my hip.

I put her on the couch where she can watch tv and started flipping the pancakes. Chresanto came in looking ready for school.
