Chapter 2

Ashley

In the car it was pretty much silence. Lila broke the silence whining. I can't do anything but comfort her. It was pretty cold too.

"I'm sorry baby." I mumbled patting her back. She finally stopped whining trying to fall back asleep. "She's probably hungry." I nodded. "Yeah she hasn't eaten nothing since this morning." She was pretty small for a 1 year old.

"When we get there my house keeper will feed her and make sure she's okay. If that's okay with you." He says. "Thank you Eddie!" We drove up to this big house. It was beautiful! He grabbed my stuff and helped me up carrying Lila. She all of the sudden worked up looking around.

"MAY!!" All of the sudden a woman came in a matter of seconds. She was dark skinned, hair in a bun, wearing a uniform which I really can't describe. "Yes, sir?" She asked. "This is Ashley, she's a friend of mine and she needs help with a few things. She is staying here now. Make sure her baby is well bathed so she can eat something for now and also for Ashley." "Okay. Hey Ashley it's nice to meet you & my name is may.

Who is this little beautiful girl here?!" I smiled and so did Lila a little bit. She took Lila away trying to cheer her up. Lila was already comfortable with her. I went with Eddie and we went inside the house. It was huge! The living room looked comfy.

My tears started forming. God blessed me with this man helping me up getting back on my feet. "It's going to be okay Ashley. We will all help you get back on your feet." I gave him a hug. He wrapped his arms around me.

I can actually trust someone. I wiped my tears and he kissed me on the forehead. "Do you have a wife?" I asked him. He shook his head. "My wife died 3 years ago, but I have a son. He's your age and he's a really nice kid. I just nodded my head.

"Now since May is helping with Lila let's talk now and get to know each other. He opened the fridge. He got out some fruit punch. He poured it into the cup and gave it to me. "May is cooking so I'm not trying to ruin your appetite."

He opened the cabinet and got out some Doritos. He gave it to me and I thanked him. I was munching on them and drank my fruit punch. "So Ashley, where are you from?" He asked? "I'm from here. Illinois." "In this town?" I nodded my head. "What happened? Where did you use to stay at?"

"Well 2 years ago my mom kicked me out of her house when I was pregnant with Lila. She called me a sack of bitches and hoes. I was actually raped. So I stayed with my boyfriend for those 2 years. I couldn't find a house because all the money went to Lila.

He assumed I was cheating so he kicked me out of his house and me and my baby been sleeping in hallways for the past few weeks."

His looked like he felt really bad for me. "I can't believe your mom would do something like that? Did she know you was raped?" "I told her but she didn't believe me." He sighed and shook his head. "I'm sorry all of that happen to you Ashley.

People that cold hearted would do something like that. You were only 15."

I shrugged. " I know. I still love my mom but I just don't know why she would hate me for no reason." I said. "Your okay now. I'm going to help you.

Slowly it will take time but surely it will happen." We was interrupted by May and Lila. "Guess who's all clean!!" I looked over seeing my baby smiling and giggling looking freshly clean and her hair lol over the place. I kissed her seeing her happy and freshly clean.

"Okay Ashley, I'll take care of Lila. May, show her the Guest room connected to the bathroom. Also, your going shopping this week getting you more clothes."

"Thank you yall ! So much!" May & I walked upstairs as she lead me to the room. "Were all nice here. It's nice having you here Ashley." She gave me a towel and a dry towel. "Here some Shampoo & Conditioner. I'll give you some clothes and sat them on your bed." "Thank you mam." She gave me a warm nice hug and i happily hugged back.

I'm so happy right now. Finally have a mattress to sleep on. I don't have to worry about Lila crying because it's cold in the hallway. Thank you the most high!! I stripped all my clothes off and stepped in the warm shower letting my muscles relaxed. I grabbed the sponge washing my body more than once. All the dirt went down the drain. I poured some shampoo around my hair. I have thick ass hair. I washed it scrubbing all the dirt off. After I washed it I put conditioner letting it stay in there for a few minutes.

After, I was done I turn the water off. I looked in the foggy mirror and looked at my face. I looked really clean. I can't believe Xavier did me like that and my mom.

I dryer myself off and lotion myself. I put on my new underwear and put on my bra May gave me. She gave me some leggings & a V neck. I let my hair down. It was curly and just hanging down. I opened the door and closed it behind me. All of the sudden I tripped on something and fell. Well almost when someone caught me. It felt like Eddie. "Thank you Eddie I could've hurt-" I looked up and it wasn't Eddie. It was a teenage boy. He was light skinned, curly hair, tall & looked at me. "Eddie? I'm not Eddie?"

"Your his son?.." "Wait who are you??" He questioned me looking confused. "And I see YALL already meet!!" Eddie came and looked at both of us. "Ashley, this is Chresanto my son. Chresanto meet Ashley. She's going to be staying with us for a while." He smiled and went straight to his room not saying a word.

The fuck did I do to him?
