"Going somewhere?" My friend, Chris raised an eyebrow, watching me as I stood in front of the mirror, fixing my hair. After that whole incident with Kyle, I called up Chris and explained the entire situation to him, he was kind enough to let me stay with him as he knew about my situation. That day he even took me back to Kyle's place so I could get my things.

"Uh- The park." I shrug, keeping my eyes glued on my reflection, making sure I look presentable.

"To see that boy?" Chris chuckled, crossing his arms. "Or just walk by the park to stare at him like you always do because you're too afraid to speak to him?"

"His name is Phil. And no I'm not afraid, it's just that his friends are always there and I don't want to interrupt." I shrugged. Phil and I did speak a few times after that day, but we never really got to hanging out. His friends were usually around him and to be honest they did not seem as kind as him. So for today, I hoped that he would be alone.

After standing in the in front of the mirror for who knows how long, I got dressed and left, telling Chris I'll be back soon. I decided to go with an oversized pink t-shirt and some white shorts as it was beautiful day outside. I walked to the park, listening to music with one earbud in.

"I was starting to wonder what happened to you." A familiar voice said from behind me. I turned to see Phil, thankfully alone and I must say he looked gorgeous. He wore a black tank top that fit him rather well and his usual ripped black skinny jeans, he had even dyed a bit of his fringe blue which complimented him well. "It's good to see you."

"Phil! Hey!" I smiled brightly, turning my music off, trying to think of an excuse. "Y-Yeah, sorry. I just moved in with a friend last week, he was helping me move my things from Kyle's place, I didn't want to go alone and I was definitely not going to send him alone."

Phil smiled and nodded, gently nibbling on his snakebites. "Good to hear you made the right decision. I think I saw Kyle a few days back, bastard wouldn't look my way. Think I scared him pretty good."

I let out a soft laugh and nodded in agreement. I walked towards the benches and sat down, Phil following closely behind me. "Yeah you really did, He hasn't tried calling me and he didn't say anything when I went over either."

"Mhm." Phil hummed softly, sitting next to me with very little space between us. "So, I was meaning to ask you- I didn't have your number so I couldn't call or text. Do you want to hang out, we can go somewhere."

I nodded almost immediately. "Yes! Yeah I do!" I mentally slapped myself for sounding so desperate, Phil however didn't notice or care, he simply smiled and nodded.

"Oi, Phil! There you are, we've been trying to call you!" I looked over, seeing his friends walking towards us. I sighed softly, my smile fading, there goes our plans for hanging out. His friends walked over, I glanced over at Phil who did not look very pleased either. "Who's this?"

"My friend, Dan. The one I told you about. We have plans so I can't hang out today." Phil shrugged, speaking calmly. I blush slightly, that means Phil talked to them about me even though I didn't see him that much after that day. I don't know why but it made my heart flutter, I guess that's a normal reaction when a cute guy speaks of you to his friends. Phil turned so he was facing me. "I'm just going to get my car, wait here."

I smiled softly and nodded. I looked down at my feet awkwardly, his friends still standing infront of me. The brown haired one was first to speak. "I'm Alex, this is Jared and Will." He pointed to the other two.

"Oh- Uhm, it's nice to meet you.." my voice was soft and quiet, I wasn't really the best when it came to starting a conversation, especially if the people were as intimidating as him.

"So you and Phil are going out?" Will asked, raising an eyebrow.

I blushed and shook my head quickly. "N-No! We're just hanging out, we're friends. Phil helped me out a while back, that's all."

Alex smirked, shrugging. "Figured. You don't really seem like his type. Besides, he's not really the kind who settles down, all he really wants is a hook up."

"As I said- We're just friends." I mumble quietly, my cheeks pink from embarrassment. I sighed in relief when Phil honked his car, waving at me to hurry up. I smiled and stood, making my way over to him not even bothering to say goodbye to his friends. It wasn't just what they said, but I got a bad vibe from them. After Kyle, I knew I had to stay alert and it wasn't difficult to recognize people like him. What Alex said did sting  a bit, but I needed to brush it off. Phil and I had only met not too long ago and we spoke a few times, this was the first time we were properly hanging out. I could not get my hopes up only to be disappointed or hurt. Phil however did not seem like the kind who would hurt anyone like that, but I needed to keep my guard up.

"So I was thinking that we could get lunch and then just for a little drive." Phil suggested as I got into the car.

I smiled and nodded, strapping the seat belt on. "Sounds good!"

"Perfect."

I got my phone out and texted Chris letting him know that I'll be home a bit later, he replied with a wink face. I rolled my eyes, laughing softly as I put my phone away, looking over at Phil as he drove with concentration, I smiled to myself, resting my head on the window.
