Harleen Quinzel woke to the sound of her alarm clock. She reached out and smacked it until it stopped its incessant blaring. She sighed as she rubbed the tired out of her eyes and sat up in bed. She yawned as she slowly made her way out of bed and into the bathroom. She stripped herself of her red and blue pajamas and climbed into the shower, turning on the water as she did so. The hot water cascaded from the shower and onto her lithe and athletic figure.
She showered and turned the water off reaching for her towel. Stepping out of the shower, she could see the time on the clock across the room. It read 6:45 am. 'Perfect timing' she thought as she dressed herself in her usual outfit, pertaining of a black skirt, a red button up top, a stark white lab coat, black heels, and a bit of her signature perfume, which smelled like cherries.
She put her hair into a tight ponytail and put on minimal makeup. Grabbing her glasses on the way out of her room, she headed downstairs to grab some breakfast.

Joker awoke to the sound of screaming from across the hall. He groaned as he pushed himself off of the metal cot that the prisoners were given to sleep on. He looked at his wrist, on which lay the only possession he was allowed to have, a simple gold watch. He looked at the time, and seeing as it was only 6:30am, he fell back onto his cot, hoping for a little more shut eye. It seemed like the Joker had just closed his eyes when two guards burst into his cell. He knew that he had slept for only fifteen minutes."Alright, Joker!!! Time to get your ass out of bed! It's 6:45, so you know what that means," yelled one of the guards.
Joker pushed himself off the cot once more and ran his hands through his green hair. "Perfect timing, boys! I was just dreaming about all the ways in which I'd be able to kill you once I was free from this hellhole." Joker sauntered towards the guards but was stopped short of reaching them due to his leg iron.
"Alright, enough play," one of the guards said, "it's time for you to meet your maker, Joker. Today is the day that the best and brightest of Gotham is going to unravel that psychotic mind of yours." The guard walked over towards Joker and put handcuffs on him and unlatched the leg iron.
Joker took this chance to kick the guard in the crotch and send him to his knees gasping in pain. The other guard however, was quick to react and shot Joker with the tranquilizer dart from his gun. Joker's head began to swim as he fell to his knees, the dart making his legs weak. The guard that was laying on the floor had since recovered and was now standing above Joker. The guard lashed out with his fist and it connected with Joker's jaw.
"You damn piece of shit!" the guard yelled, as Joker crashed down into the floor.
'Oh, they're deeply gonna regret this...' thought Joker as blackness swamped his vision.
———————————————————————Harleen grabbed the toast from the toaster and spread butter about the crisp bread. She grabbed her keys and headed out of her apartment. She unlocked the car door with one hand, while juggling her purse and toast with the other and she quickly jumped into the car. Setting her purse upon the seat next to her, she ate her toast and pressed the start button on her car. She was lucky to have a beautiful red, 2016 S-Class Mercedes that had been given to her for Christmas last year, that only needed to recognize the keys in order to start the car with the push of a button. She backed out of the short driveway, and began her drive to work. It only took about fifteen minutes to get to work and she arrived by 7:10am. She walked into the Asylum and checked in and went straight to her office. She knew that today and the following days would really boost the credit to her name, if she was able to complete her task. She compiled the notes on the Joker and began to make her way to the room in which she would begin her process to unravel the Joker.
She reached the door to the room where the Joker was being held. The two guards at the door acknowledged her and unlocked the door. "Will you be needing any assistance in the room with you, Miss Quinzel?" asked one guard.
"No I should be just fine, thank you," Harleen answered, her Brooklyn accent slipping into her voice. The door opened and Harleen stepped inside. Sitting on the opposite side of the table in front of her, was a pale, green haired man, in an orange jumpsuit, in handcuffs and leg cuffs that were attached to the floor. The Joker's brown eyes met Harleen's blue ones as she stepped inside the room. She knew this was it. The moment all her training had been for. Harleen smiled and exclaimed, "Hello Mister Joker. Welcome to where you will meet your breaking point."

A/N : Hello!!! Thank you for reading Chapter 1! This is my very first fan fiction!! If you want to leave a comment or review, that would be great!! I want to let you know about my writing style. For this story I will be writing like the character which means that for Harleen I will have sophisticated writing and for Harley I will have not sophisticated writing. This also means that there will be moments that are dull because they are just descriptions but please remember I'm doing it to try to give you more of the character! Yet again, thank you so much for reading this!! Chapter 2 is a good one and Chapter 3 will be intense.
