Jess POV

I ran out of the CDC as fast as I could. I thought I had gotten far enough, but I felt a gust of wind lift me up and throw me forward.

I blacked out for a couple minutes. Once I regain my consciousness I was face down on the ground. I tried to get myself up of the ground, but it hurt to much. I thought I was going to die here.

I couldn't give up. I put my hand on a barricade that was in front of me and tried to pull myself up. I got off the ground a little bit but fell back down.

It took me three tries to try and get up. On the fourth try I was finally able to stand. Everyone was looking at me. They were amazed that I had survived.

I walked along side the barricade in pain and limping. I took two more steps and I took my hand off the barricade. I took four small steps before I fell back down onto the ground.

I laid down on the ground thinking it might be the end. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a blurry figure as all my surrounding became blurry as well.

The figure picked me up. "Shane." I mumbled under my breath.

"Yeah Jess it's me. Just... just stay with me okay. We... we are almost back to my jeep, okay." Shane said to me with tears in his eyes and the occasional stutter in his voice. I just looked up at Shane as I slowly closed my eyes.

Dream

I looked around frantically. I was in the middle of a forest and it was pitch black. "Hello! Is anyone there?" I yelled out hoping someone from in my group was around.

Five minutes past but it felt like forever. I saw a faint dim glowing light in the distance. I started to walk forward. Every time I took a step the leafs crunched and sticks broke. "I just hope there aren't any walkers nearby." I mumbled under my breath.

I got to the source of the light. It was a farm, but the farm didn't feel right. I took two steps forward, but someone threw there hand over my mouth and nose with a piece of cloth. I knew someone was trying to drug me, but I couldn't fight back.

I squirmed around for a good five minutes. Until everything went blurry. I saw a big tall figure walking towards me with something in his hand. I blacked out as he put a blindfold over my eyes.

I woke up abruptly. I heard men talking about what they were going to do to my body. I had bad thoughts going through my head. That I didn't even notice the walkers slowly coming out of the dark corners.

I started to move around frantically but the bonds that were keeping me tied to the chair were to tight. I couldn't do anything. I tried to yell but no sound came out. The walkers were slowly getting closer and closer.

I knew I was going to die. I tried once last time to try and get bonds off, but they didn't budge. A walker got close to me but I kicked it. In return my chair tipped back making it easier for the walkers to eat me.

The walkers slowly crowded around me. I felt a pair of hands rip through my shirt and slowly pulling my skin apart. It was the most pain I had every been in.

This went on for what felt like hours. It was a never ending pain that went through my whole body. It was like my flesh was never ending.

Soon after I heard gun shots. All the walkers around me were dead. Two figures came into view; Lauren and Shane. They ran over to me and Shane put his hands over my stomach trying to stop the bleeding.

"Jess you can't give up. You have to stay with us." Shane said quickly his eyes welding up with tears.

"No! Jess don't listen to him. If you go with him you'll die out there just as painful as the pain your going through right now." Lauren said emphasizing the words right and now.

They argued back and forth. Until there was moment of silence. I knew that was the time for me to answer. I tried to say that I would stay with Shane but nothing came out. I tried yelling at the top of my lungs, but still nothing.

Shane stopped putting pressure on my stomach. "I see how it is Jess. Giving us the silent treatment. Look! Just because you are pain doesn't mean we have to help you. I should have never helped you." Shane said angrily, but then walked out of the barn.

"Jess, I thought you were better than this." Lauren said getting up with a sound of disappointment in her voice.

I saw her pull something out of her holster. I knew exactly what is was. "Jess I don't want to do this, but I have no other choice. I'm..... sorry." Lauren pointed the gun at my head and pulled the trigger.

My last memory was Lauren crying and saying that she's sorry; and the birds flying away from the sound of the gunshot.

End of dream

So that is the prologue of the second book of my walking dead series. I have been wanting to write this but I had school, sports, and I was writing another book.

So I put my book on hold to write this one. Once I am done with this book I will pick up the supernatural book again.

So we had Jess's POV on what happened when the CDC exploded. Then we had a horrifying dream that will scar her forever.

One last update, I will try to post a new chapter every week. Also since season two is longer than season one I will try to make the chapters longer.

Thank you for reading the prologue. I hope you enjoyed it. Like it, share it, and give me feed back. Bye!
