You took your book bag from the chair on your desk before walking out the front door of your house. Peter always picked you up at your house. Always. It was kind of a thing for you both. Somwtimes, you'd go to his early like the first time since he's always sleeping in nowadays.
After twenty minutes of waiting, you sighed before climbing down the steps to your house and closing the gate before walking to Peter's.
You hummed lightly as you walked swaying slightly as you thought of the night before when Spiderman swept you off your feet quite literally.
You giggled to yourself thinking of it as you passed the people of new york. You held a textbook in your hand due to its weight on your already breaking bookbag. You didn't want another one yet. You had grown quite attached to the old bag.
You held the book close to your chest your humming fading as you neared Peter's only to see someone already at the door.
Gwen Stacy?
You raised a brow slightly stopping in your tracks slowly as she waited at Peter's doorstep. What was she doing here?
She had a few books in hand, one hand limp at her side but, swinging with anticipation. Her blond, wavy hair flying smoothly in the cool, fall breeze.
Your smile faded even more becoming a saddened frown the moment Peter walked out a soft smile on his face. An expression he only really saved for you. He didn't notice you as he and Gwen walked down his three house steps before walking down the road, close together and fingers entwined. Opposite of your house.
He didn't even call.
He smiled at her. Smiled.
Your bottom lips quivered slightly as you looked down to the cement bellow your feet. You sniffle a little before turning your back and walking the opposite way, taking the longer way to school.
You grip your book tighter and unable to take the stabbing sensation starting in your chest you take off in a run.
You were a fool to think any better. It's always been Gwen. She was the prettiest girl in school. The smartest. Funniest. And you?
Your legs pumped harder. They beat at the street, you felt the vibrations in your skin. In your bones. But, you didn't pay any mind to it as you came to the school grounds.
Your run slowed to a jog before slowing to a walk. You ignored the jocks from the other day that noticed with snickers that you were alone today. You resisted the urge to snap at them, to beat their faces in.
But, it wouldn't prove anything. It could prove that a girl could stand up to an intimidating, 6ft, jock of course but, you had nothing to prove. Not to them.
You walked to the school entrance opening it without hesitation and walking through the doors hearing the faint thud as it closed slowly behind you.
You wasted no time walking down the halls quietly and walking into your classroom sitting down at your seat. You were glad in that moment that Peter didn't sit next to you.
That's when the bell rang.
It took a while for Peter to get to class. And when the other students piled in you became worried as he didn't. You almost stood up and ran out the class thinking he was jumped by the jocks again.
But, you were shocked once more as Peter came in right before the bell rang. Just in time. No bruises. No limp. No disheveled clothing. Just a smile on his face.
You looked down as he made eye contact with you for a moment his smile fading to a look of guilt and realization. You took out your notebook and a pen before jotting down notes.
The jock next to you smirked putting a hand on your waist "problems in paradise" he said leaning over whispering in your ears.
He was touching you and he was way to close for your liking.
You nudged his arm away from you violently and he grinned in glee as you hissed "don't touch me".
You glared at him one last time before turning back to your notes and listening to the teachers boring lecture.
Peter on the other side of the room looked at your saddened face as he walked in. He felt the guilt pouring into him in enormous amounts most likely overflowing him. He had forgotten. Forgotten to pick you up like he always did.
He felt terrible as he walked to his seat.
He felt terrible as you looked away from his gaze.
He felt anger when the jock made you upset.
He felt despair when you never looked his way during class or sent tiny smiles his way like you always did.
He buried his head in his hands running them through his hair before sighing. He was studying with Gwen for their project. He was paired with her for it and he was up all night doing it. He forgot to tell you after leaving his phone on his dresser.
He knew it didn't explain why he left unannounced. But, he had to try and now....you were already half way out the door.
He rushed to the door his bag in hand and the jock shoved into him making him drop his books in the process. The jock smirked and shrugged "watch it Parker" before walking off.
Peter growled in frustration before picking up his books and rushing to meet you. He got to you before you went into your class "(Y/N)!" He called.
You stiffened slightly before your shoulders sagged and you turned to him "What is it?" You asked your frustration evident.
He didn't know where to start so, he just started talking "I'm sorry I forgot to pick you up. I didn't mean to its just that--" you cut him off.
"You'd rather go with Gwen then me?" You asked saddened slightly your shoulder deflating.
Peter shook his head violently his arm's waving "no! No not at all. The exact opposite! I was working on a project with her and---". He paused his cheeks flaring as you looked up at him your lips parting slightly understanding in your features.
He then blurted out taking the flower he had stuffed in his bag walking to school. The stem was broken bending in an odd angle a few petals falling at your feet slowly. But, it's the thought that counts right.
You looked at it stunned a few people stared in the hallway as that passed to get to classes. You looked from the flower to Peter "Pete?"
Peter smiles nervously "Go out with me? (Y/n) (L/n) will you go out with me?"
You looked at him with wide eye's your vision clouding slightly before you smiled and took the offered flower gently from his hand with a nod.
"Yes." You replied with shaky breath and a growing smile.
Peter sighed in relief before laughing excitedly and picking you up in his arms uncaring of any one who see's. You squealed and giggled.
He spun you gently and you wrapped his arm's around his neck.
He set you down before planting a soft kiss on your lips. You gasped making him back away a faint blush on his cheeks as he stuttered "I'm sorry i-i...mph!"
You pulled him down by his collar and your arm going to the back of his head as you pulled him down to capture his lips. He leaned into it his hands coming up to your cheeks to cup them pulling you closer.
You parted as soon as the bell rang meaning you both were late. You didn't care and you doubted he did either as with huge smiles on your faces and stumbling goodbyes you entered your classes with a swing in your step.
Peter parker. My boyfriend.
