The working of the wand is extremely complex, since it has too many parts and each part has its own specific functioning. The working of the wand also depends, to a great extent, on the wizard. The working of the wand is discussed below in detail.
The generation of energy
Every piece of magic we perform is, firstly, created inside the wand itself. This is a very complex procedure. When a wizard correctly pronounces a spell along with the right movement of the wand, magic is successful. Otherwise it may cause hazardous situations or simply do nothing. Also, an exception of 'non-oral magic' in which, there is no need to utter words. As mentioned earlier, the divek of the wand and the brain of a wizard are connected. Hence, when a wizard speaks up a spell or charm etc. the divek recognizes it and stimulates the core to produce energy. The core rotates at a specific frequency, which is defined by the stimulation of the divek and hence, related to the impulse received from the wizard itself, and hence producing energy. This energy is used to do magic. While doing 'non-oral' magic the divek actually receives impulses only from the thinking of the wizard and are enhanced by movement of the wand in the right way. Therefore, there is no need to speak. This branch of magic requires great concentration and practice.
The creation of magic
The energy from the core when emitted outside the coreal case reaches the enzahement. The enzahement is the substance which turns this energy into magic. The enzahement is actually transparent in color. When the energy reaches the enzahement the color changes in respect to the specific magic performed. Due to acquiring of energy by the enzahement, it becomes unstable. Here, the Hikahora comes into work. It keeps the fluid stable and controlled. Without the enzahement, the energy of the core would be valueless and hence this can help us understand the significance of the substance. The Hikahora also helps to prevent the release of energy from any part of the wand except the tip of it.

The release of the energy
The release of the energy in the form of magic is exclusively reliant upon the Kee .The Kee is constituent of thin "bewitched" silver strands hanging from the end of the tip of the wand from the inner side of the shell. The strands are free from each other. The behavior of the Kee is interesting to note while performing different types of magic. For instance, while performing magic which necessitate the discharge of energy in a particular direction like a bolt, such as the cruciatus curse, the strands of the Kee stick together like the tail of a centaur. Similarly, while performing magic which require the energy to spread in all directions, such as the patronus charm, the strands of the Kee form a blob-like shape. This change in shape helps in paving the way for desired method of energy release. Also, this behavior is controlled by the divek itself. The energy reaches the tip of the wand passing through the Kee and penetrates through the tip to reach the world outside the shell. In this way the energy is propagated.
In this chapter, we learnt about how energy is created, utilized and propagated while performing magic. Understanding this chapter is exceedingly fundamental for the understanding of wandlore.
