Rei x Reader - Christmas Date

"Rei? Where are you?" you asked over the phone as you stood under a lamppost.

"I'm almost there. Sorry for running a little late!"

"It's okay, Rei take your time!" You replied. "I'll just wait for you!"

Just as you were going to hang up your phone, you felt yourself lift up from the snowy ground, being swung in the air.

"Merry Christmas, _______!" You heard the familiar voice and laughed.

"Rei! Put me down!" you held his hands tightly.

"You're having so much fun though!" He laughed along with you and finally put you down.

"Rei, it's good to see you again!" You hugged him and he hugged you back. "You made me wait a while, you know?" you placed a hand on your hip.

"I'm sorry. The snow did make me a little slow today, but I'm here now!" he poked your nose. "So don't worry!"

"Hehe, then let's go!" You grabbed his hand and began walking away.

"The ice rink is so full!" you exclaimed seeing all the people on the ice. "And it's Christmas today too."

"It's a nice day to be with loved ones even on ice isn't it?" he smiled and looked at you. "Well, I'll go get us skates then."

You waited for Rei to come back and saw all the people skate around the ice rink. There were families with young kids, older couples and even couples that looked the same age as Rei and yourself. You smiled as you saw the faces of them all, filled with much happiness and love.

"Here are your skates," Rei sat next to you and held them in front of you.

"Thank you, Rei." You took them and began to change into them.

The two of you finished changing into the skates and finally went on the ice. It was a while since the last time you ever skated which made you nervous.

"Rei, wait!" He was already off and skating away.

"You're so slow, _______." He circled around you.

"Wait, I might crash into you!" you panicked.

"No you won't. C'mon, let me just take you!" He grabbed your hand and began skating away. "Don't be so afraid. I'll guide you."

"But Rei, don't go so fast!" You tried to move your legs to try and keep up with his pace. "I'm a little scared!"

"I'm with you, _______. No need to be afraid."

Rei eventually slowed down and allowed you to get accustomed to ice skating. And pretty soon you were getting the hang of it. "Rei, this is fun." You laughed next to him, matching his leg movements.

"Yeah, you're getting really good!" He smiled back at you. "Oh, wait! Your laces!" He stopped himself.

"Hmm? Oh, it's untied!" You also stopped and kneeled down to tie it.

"_______, let me." He kneeled in front of you, placing a knee on the ice and tying your skates laces. "It's done." He looked up at you.

"Thanks, Rei!" You blushed. "Let me help you up." You held out your hand and he grabbed it.

"Thank you. Now, shall we continue?" he offered his hand this time.

"Of course." You took it and the two of you continued to skate.

After a few hours of skating, the two of you finally decided to settle down. You two grabbed some can coffee and made your way to a nearby park.

"Even the park is decorated with lights.." you sighed. "It's really pretty. Especially since the sun is setting soon."

"It is." Rei agreed as he sipped his can.

"Rei.. Today was fun. I'm glad we got to spend it with each other like this." You turned to him.

"I'm glad you were able to come with me, _______."

You smiled at him and sipped on your coffee too. Then you snuggled closer to Rei and rested your head against his shoulder. "It's getting colder, isn't it?"

"It is, but that's why I have you!" He wrapped his arms around you and pressed his face next to yours. The two of you laughed. "I'm always warm with you, _______!"

"Hehe, good! I don't want Rei to be cold!" You squeezed him tight.

"Hey, _______.. Since it is Christmas.. I got you a gift." He searched his pockets.

"Rei, you know you didn't have to!"

"I wanted to!" He pulled out a small little black box.

You gasped as you saw it. "Rei, I don't deserve anything from you like this though."

"Don't be silly." He chuckled as he hand you the box. "Open it."

"Thank you, Rei.." you hugged him. "Well, I guess I'll open it then.." You held the bottom with one hand and grabbed the top with the other. Gripping it, you pulled out small leaves. You glanced at Rei confused. "What is this..?"

"It's supposed to be a mistletoe.." he shyly answered. "Here." He grabbed your hand that held the mistletoe and raised it above both of your heads. "You know what comes next right?"

You were blushing by then already and nodded at Rei. He began to lean close into your face and kissed you. You kissed him back.

"Was that your gift, Rei?" you asked him after the two of you pulled away from each other.

"Of course not, _______. I still have more for you. But for now, let's take you back home, it's getting late already."

"Alright then. Let's go home then!" The two of you walked back home hand in hand. Hoping to spend the rest of your Christmas together indoors.

--Since I missed Rei's story for his birthday I'll do a Christmas date with Rei~ honestly doesn't seem that great tho. feels like I haven't written for a while and it's bad ): but oh well, hope you might like it anyway~
