Chapter 5 Early Bird

I look up from the bed I'm laying on.
I look around and notice many small cables connected to me.
I was scared and I didn't know what to do.
I lightly threw my voice and called out for anyone.
A nurse came crashing through the door.
I seen her excitement.
She ran outside again and when she came back she was with my parents.
My mom was crying as she put her hands over her mouth and my dad kept his tears in his sleeve.
They hugged me.
For the first time in my life they actually cared.
I hugged them back.
Then the nurse called in the doctor.
It came out since I disappeared they sent a small search party.
They found me scratched up and all!
I was about to tell them that I was in the ruins, I had wings, I met a werewolf and vampire, I was in a ghost forest, I found the secret civilization and I found the train but it sounded like a bit much.
I looked through the door to see my younger brother Tom and my friend holding presents.
How long was I knocked out?
I wandered that.
I asked the doctor.
He answered to me with the answer of a whopping 7 weeks.
I stared at him with my eyes almost bulging out.
I then thought this is all I ever wanted in life.
It was like a Dream come true.
The word Dream ran around in my mind.
I waved at Tom but he just stood there with his eyes glued to his friend Sebastian.
I too was looking at Sebastian as he held a big box of chocolate in his hands.
He looked over at me.
He slowly walked to the side of my bed and handed me the box.
I gave one to the doctor, nurse, Tom, Sebastian, mom and dad.
They pat me on the shoulder.
I remembered having wings.
Without not too much suspicious I checked my back.
They were gone but in their place I found to knife like scars and bandages.
I looked all over the room until I found a feather of the color my wings had on the floor.
A lime green feather with a blue tip and then a red tip.
I moved over and picked it up.
I pretended not to remember while I asked them.
I seen the doctor come to a cupboard and open it.
He took a box out.
He put the box on the floor and he opened it.
Inside was a glass case and my wing inside it.
Only one.
I don't know where the other one was.
I stared out through the window and all I seen was a black void.
Was it night already?
I looked at my bag at the side of my bed.
All my flowers and berries were gone.
I looked at them with a face of pure purple.
The doctor gently giggled.
He then told me they were all taken to the lab.
So I was useful and my family cared about me but I felt lonely without my friends.
I didn't know how to feel.
I felt a bittersweet smile crawl up my face.
Until I felt my sour tears crawling down my cheeks.
