"Change is the only constant" is what we have always heard. However, it is also equally true that some elements no matter what never change and one such thing is the importance of this great epic Mahabharata.  It never fails to describe various human actions and their implication on the society no matter which generation one belongs to. Thus, according to me it would not be wrong if I could call it the guide to human actions. It through its many characters teach you the right way to live life. To an extent it would also not be wrong to call it the best drama available to mankind. In this sense, the tale Mahabharata revolves around the simple fact that every human action should adhere to Dharma, because it would add up to his Karma.

This simply means that every human action does have an implication to what would happen in due course of time. According to me, the great war of Mahabharata, though only fought between the Pandavas and Kauravas, was not just the result of their respective behaviour, but each and every character had equally contributed to it. It in one tale depicts the behaviour of different types of people in the society. To me, it is a mirror of the actual society. It is a true insight into life.

If we closely interospect into the various sections of this great epic, we will find that there is a lot that can be imbibed even today. For instance, Satyavati's great ambitions always encourages us to dream big, but at the same time also opens doors for us to think on how we should ensure that our ambitions don't turn out become greed. Pitamaha Beeshma, throughout the tale displays how though not easy it is essential for one to choose the right and do justice even over and above one's family and love. Gandhari's virtuous principles depict the importance of discipline in one's life. Kunti is an example of selfless love even today. Krishna's teachings guide a person to do the right.

Mahabharata can also be regarded as a guide book for leaders as it rightly gives out the various rules pertaining to decision making and ruling a kingdom. It also explains the politics and the battle for the ultimate throne. Therefore, it would not be wrong to state that Mahabharata is one such epic that pushes one to think about his acts and behaviour in line with the society's principles. It describes not only the different kinds of people in society but also talks about the various spheres of life. It is a summary of life.

No matter what age it is, I still believe that the importance of this great epic known to mankind will never fade away. It shall always be above all other epics, and would always retain its position as the book of all books.
