One night, a group of friends were driving into the woods for a camping trip in Mansfield, Ohio. The rain came down hard on the van as Daniel adjusted the windshield wipers so he can see the road clearly. Alice yawns sitting in the passenger side and sets down the book she was reading. "Oh man, how long will it take until we make it to the lodge, Daniel . " Daniel watches for any sign of the camping lodge then sighs in frustration. "Just a few more minutes and we should be there in no time." About a few minutes later, they spot a sign reading, "Camp Wachata Creek." Melissa points towards the sign as Daniel crosses the bridge, and pulls up to the entrance. He parks the van and they grab their luggage rushing to the lodge door. He rummages for the doorknob, and opens the door. They rush inside the building and he closes the door behind him. "Man, this weather tonight is crazier than when we left." James says. He looks around inside the lodge, spots the light switch, and walks towards it to turn it on. Click. Click. Click. "Hm, that's weird. The lights won't come on." Daniel walks to the light switch and tries to turn it on. Click. Click. Click. Click. He looks around and sighs, "The rain must've blown out the circuits or something. I wonder if there's a power generator somewhere or a room with the generator." He turns on his flashlight and looks around the room. He then notices an old photograph on the floor in the corner. He picks it up and wipes away the dust to get a better look at the photograph. "Hey guys, take a look at this. I found an old photograph." The rest walk to him and glance at the picture as he shined the light closer to the picture. "This picture was taken on November 5, 1981. Whoa, it's the same camp." Alice glances at the picture and notices a picture of the kid's face scratched out. "That's weird, someone scratched out a kid from this picture over here on the left. "
Daniel sets the picture back down and they all look around some more. Just then, they all jump as they heard something go Thump! "What was that?" Daniel shines the light towards a fallen Alice. "Hey, are you okay Alice?" She sits up after falling on the floor. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just tripped over something." He helps her up and spots a brown trunk right next to her. He shines the light on it and walks to it. He opens the locks as they walked towards him. Daniel lifts up the trunk as they saw old newspapers and photographs. Each of them grabbed either a newspaper or a picture. Melissa reads the headline, "Teenage Boy Missing After Drowning in Wachata Lake. Body Never Found." Melissa looks at the photographs as James reads another headline in the newspaper. "Investigation of 12 Missing Campers in Camp Wachata. Still no location as police close the investigation after finding no evidence of them being abducted. Guidance counselors claimed to have witnessed the missing children wondering towards the lake with a mysterious figure and disappeared. The figure was described as having stitches all over its body, red eyes, blond hair, pale skin, blue torn hoodie, and white pants. They've claimed to have seen the figure come to inside the lodges night after night while the children slept, and said that it was like he disappeared in mid-air. Children have said that they would hear a voice singing to them from the lake. The voice would say, Come my friend and swim with me. Come to the lake and join me for a swim. "
Daniel and Alice look at each other as thunder clapped. Boom! James picks up another newspaper as it read, December. 3, 1982. Camp Wachata Creek closed down after disappearances of 5 children remained a mystery. Bodies were never found or whereabouts remained unknown. The group set them down and close back the trunk. "So this exact camp has been closed down after these kids went missing. I got a feeling that this is a bad idea. Like what if this place is cursed or something?" Daniel looks at Melissa with a serious expression. "Oh please, you don't really believe in that stuff, do you? It's probably just a prank they pulled to leave camp because it sucked. Those kids probably just ran away because they didn't want to be there. So they just made up some figure that takes them away from their rooms at night. And i bet that the figure is really just a teenager wearing a costume in the prank. And the kid who drowned probably just faked it and ran away somewhere when no one was looking. So I'm sure that it's all fake. It's not like this place is haunted or cursed or whatever you want to call it. "Melissa rolls her eyes and walks around in annoyance. She sighs. "Yeah. Sure. Whatever." She hears a noise from outside of the wall and gasps. Scratch. Scratch. "Did you guys hear that?" James shines his flashlight at the door and then at Melissa. "That was probably a branch scratching at the wall, Melissa. You're being paranoid." She rolls her eyes at James and opens her suitcase. "That's strange. I thought brought my hairbrush with me. I guess I must've forgotten to pack it." Daniel sees a map of the camp grounds, and finds the power room. "Hey guys, I found a map that leads to the power room. I'm going to go see if I can try to turn on the power. I'll be right back. "He puts on his hoodie and grabs the flashlight. He goes off in the darkness...
