Poppy's POV:

What a beautiful day today is! The sun is shining bright, my Troll's are happier than ever, and best of all, it's time to give my gift to Branch! I've been planning this gift since Trollsist, and I think it'll be the best gift yet!

"Good morning, my lovely Troll kingdom!" I approached them with a smile. They stood below me watching me with admirable and softened eyes.

"Princess Poppy! Are you going to give your boyfriend a present today?" A small, meager Troll called out. The rest of the Trolls turned to her in awe. I gave her a grin.

"Yes, in fact. I am. It'll be the best gift he's ever gotten before! Let's just say..." I said, turning my voice to a small whisper. "... You may have a new king soon," and I gave them a wink.

They smiled and yelled like crazy, dancing and screaming hoorays and other things. I was so excited that they were excited! I just hope Branch didn't hear yet... I don't want him to know until it's time.

********************

It was late at night, almost ten, when I knocked on Branch's door. I saw a small Troll come up to me before Branch answered and said;

"Is it time, Queen Poppy? Time for you to give your boyfriend the special gift?" She asked.

I crouched down and smiled at her.
"Yes, little one. It is."

The small Troll looked down, and I could tell she was somewhat confused that I held nothing in my hands for my boyfriend.

"But, Poppy...." she said. "... There's nothing in your hands. What are you going to give him?"

"A little something that'll make a big change," I said and bopped her nose. "Just wait. Tomorrow you'll be amazed."

The miner Troll nodded and as Branch opened the door she hurried away.

When the door swung open, I saw Branch. He looked so different. He gave me a weak smile as his skin completely fell gray as it once was.

"Branch! What happened? Why are you changing colors?" I cried, almost completely collapsing on him.

Branch, after letting me in, shut his door, took me to his kitchen and said;

"I'm so sorry, Poppy. I just wanted you to have the best Valentrolls ever. B... But I was just a big failure," he handed me the gift he made me. It was a scrapbook. It was cut unevenly and pieces popped out, glue stains and hair and eyes made wrong. He looked at me with pitiful and sorrow eyes and said, "I'm sorry. I know it looks terrible."

I looked down at it once more and took it, sweeping it up in my arms and giving him a beam.

                     "Oh, Branch! I love it so much. It looks so good! This was your first time, wasn't it?" I said, laughing and nudging his arm.

I could tell his color was starting to rise back.

                      "Heh, yeah," he said and gave me a hug. "Sorry it's not the best. I'm not very good at scrapbooking."

                       "Oh, Branch, this is amazing for your first time! I mean, you should've seen..."

                      "POPPY!!!" Rose screams from every direction. Branch and I rushed outside to see the evil Bergen back with a pack in her hand, and.... Creek!

Branch grabbed onto my hands. But it was no use. She swooped me up and my hands tore from Branch. I was in her pack faster than a rabbit chasing a carrot on a stick! And there was no one else. Just me!

                   "So, this is the Troll that made every Bergen happy?" The Bergen asked Creek.

                    "That's the one," Creek said. "Queen Poppy of the Trolls."

My heart broke.
