CHAPTER 2
Cheer tryouts, if you can even call them that, went as smoothly as I could have predicted. Aid, B and I were named captains after our tryout and the rest of the time the girls just pretended not to watch the football guys. Scratch that, half of them couldn't care less if the whole football team knew they were eyeing them. The thirst is real around here.
Throughout the tryout I did notice all the times Colton accidentally ended up near me. Whether it was running a wider route or talking to one of the other cheerleaders during his drink break, shamelessly flirting with them might I add, he was finding any excuse he could, yet he didn't say one word to me which I found a little strange considering I've known him like my whole life. He's probably just in another one of his moods.
"Quinn do you want to come over?" Brooke asks me. "Adrian is too, she says she brings gifts!"
I laugh at Brooke's excitement and nod my head, "Sure. Let me just go tell my brother."
I know that we took Colton and Brooke to school, but I still have to let my brother know that I won't be coming home with him otherwise he will throw a tantrum and I don't feel like dealing with that today. "Casen." I yell over to him, instantly catching his attention.
Casen starts walking over to me, an angry expression on his face and Colton following not too far behind. "Quinn what is this I'm hearing about some dick grabbing your ass at school today?" he questions me, anger clearly evident amongst his face.
I roll my eyes at him. He loves to overreact. "Casen he didn't grab my ass. He knocked me over and helped me up and then COLTON threw me over his shoulder and made a huge deal out of nothing." I respond. These boys can be so frustrating sometimes. "Look I know you think it's your responsibility to watch over my every move, but I'm a big girl Case and I can handle things on my own. I promise if it ever gets to be too much you're the first person I'd come to for help."
"I know Quinny, but you're my baby sis and it's my job to make sure you're safe." He replies and pinches my cheeks to add some extra effect.
"Do that again and I'll destroy you." I say shaking my head. I can't believe I got stuck with this dweeb for a brother, but at the end of the day I wouldn't trade him for the world.
Casen seems to ease up a little after that, but I know he's still mad. "Are you okay?" He asks a little nicer than a few seconds ago.
"I'm great actually, Colton probably just exaggerated what happened, anyway, I just wanted to let you know I'm going to Brooke's." I look at Colton and there's a small smirk on his face. He's been awfully quiet this whole time.
"Okay. Just text me when you need picked up."
I'm about to walk away when Colton finally speaks, "Case I can take her home, I do have a car you know." I roll my eyes at Colton's sarcasm and wait for my brothers response.
"That would be great, thanks Colton."
"Let's get going then shall we?" Colton says in a better mood and shoots me a smirk. What is it with him and his extreme mood swings?
We make our way to the car where Brooke is waiting, leaning against it. "Well it's about time you guys made your way over here."
"Sorry Brooke, I was being harassed." I say knowing that she knows exactly what I'm talking about.
"There there sweetie, one day they'll pull their heads out of their asses and leave us alone." She says directly towards our brothers. They both just chuckle and roll their eyes. The rest of the drive is filled with a comfortable silence until we reach the Evans' house, "Thanks for the ride Casen!" Brooke says sarcastically. They really don't like each other.
