Dan, on the other hand, was sitting exactly twenty feet away from where Phil was, as his mother was talking to a car dealer. He decided to text Phil one more time.
3:20 PM
dannotdaniel: Phil?
A ringtone sound went off, causing Dan's head to snap up and look for the sound. "I'll be right back. I've got to use the toilet." he lied. His mother just nodded and shooed him away.
3:21 PM
dannotdaniel: Phil this may sound weird...but are you at Lester & Cheque?
Another bing went off, and it was definitely coming from the men's bathroom. Pushing the door open, he heard heavy breathing as something got up and shuffled away from him. That something crashed into Dan, and it was a boy.
"Sorry," the boy said, reaching for his glasses. "I-I didn't mean to-"
"It's okay." Dan said. The boy just nodded and ran out of there.
And that boy was Phil.
