Jin's POV

"Hyung, you're going too slow!" Taehyung called from the path ahead. My four best friends and I were going down to the river bank below the bridge this afternoon. We only had one and a half weeks left until school started back, so we planned to relish our freedom and the last days of summer.

The five of us always spent our time together. It was very rare to catch one separated from the other four, and that's how we liked it. Our days were spent hanging out around various venues in town, followed by our nightly movie and sleepovers.

All of our parents, siblings, and classmates warned us that we would soon grow tired of each other's company and separate, but since this would be our third year together, I assumed it was safe to pronounce them incorrect.

"Jin hyung!" I was taken out of my thoughts by Hoseok's voice ringing through the air. I jogged to catch up to them and found that they were already playing by the water's edge. As I neared them, my steps slowed and I surveyed the scene in front of me. Namjoon and Taehyung were attacking Hoseok with water, but where was Jimin?

I scanned the area and could not find any sign of him. The others seemed oblivious to our missing friend, and I was starting to get really worried.

"Guys!" I called out to the three playing in the water, but they were too busy attacking each other to pay attention to me.

"Guy-aaaahhhh!" My yell was interrupted by a surge of freezing water being dumped on my head. I heard Jimin's laugh, then the others joined in.

"Hyung," Jimin gasped out between fits of laughter "You screamed like a girl!" Shooting him a glare, I turned and walked to the river.

I almost smirked at the silence behind me.

"Jin?" Hoseok called after me. I could imagine the worried looks on their faces and fought the smile that was threatening to appear. They hated making me upset.

"Jin hyung, are you mad?" Jimin's voice was directly behind me, and I smirked. He should have seen this coming.

Letting out a frustrated sigh, I turned to face Jimin. He looked up at me, face full of worry, and just as he started to talk, I grabbed him by the waist and tossed him into the river.

Jimin emerged sputtering, and I let a satisfied smile settle on my lips.

"You're no fun to play pranks on," he muttered as he walked past me to sit and dry out on the bank. I chuckled, plopping down by him, planning on enjoying the last days of summer by soaking up the warm sun.

A cool breeze blew up around us, making me shiver and scoot closer to use Jimin as a shield. I laid back, listening to the steady rhythm of Jimin's breathing, the sound and warmth almost lulling me to sleep.

Suddenly, as a particularly cold gust swept through, Jimin's breathing sped up; he almost sounded panicked. Setting up quickly, I saw his eyes widen in horror and I turned just in time to see someone jump from the bridge above us.

Jimin was up in a flash, racing toward the river.

"Jimin, it's too far out!" I called, grabbing his arm to try and stop him. He shrugged me off, saying, "I am the best swimmer here. " before diving into the water.

"What's going on?" Namjoon asked. He, Hoseok, and Taehyung had just joined me at the river's edge.

"Someone jumped from the bridge," I answered, my eyes trained on Jimin as he neared the spot the person fell at. He had to dive a couple of times, but on the third try, he emerged with another person. They didn't seem to be struggling, so Jimin had an easy time bringing them back to shore.

Hoseok and Taehyung grabbed the person, who I could now tell was a boy and brought him to the bank while Namjoon helped our exhausted friend out of the water.

Thankfully, I had taken CPR classes that summer, so after I saw that he wasn't breathing, I started chest compressions and instructed Namjoon to call 119(Korea's 911). It didn't take long before he was spitting up water. So I rolled him onto his side,  gently patting his back as I waited for the coughing to subside.

His coughing soon turned to muttering and I could only make out one phrase before he lost consciousness again.

"Please let me die."

A/N: Instead of doing everything from Suga's POV, I decided to add an air of mystery to this story and put every part in a different POV.
