{Lily's POV}I dashed through the building. I turned the corner and saw him again I turned once more and ran into someone.
"Hey! Watch where you're going!" I yell at the person who I bumped into.
"You watch who you're talking to," Ms.Thompson yelled at me.
"All I see is the fat lady who can't fit behind the desk," I shoot back at her.
"And I see a girl with detention and Saturday school for the next two weeks," The teacher said and pointed to detention.
I walked over there and opened the door blowing a bubble gum bubble in my mouth.
"Gum isn't allowed in my classroom. One day added, how long will you be staying in here for?" The teacher, Ms.Hare asked me.
"Two weeks and yes I know where to sit I've done this whole thing millions of times before," I say and work my way to the back of the classroom.
I saw one entry seat left right I between some dumb white girl and Peter Parker. Unfortunately.
I took the seat and took out my binder and finished my sketch. I drew the last line when Peter snatched my paper. I fought him for it but he had his arm against my chest.
"Wow, big fan of Spiderman are we?" Parker teased.
I tried to lean in closer but I forgot Peter's hand was right there and he pulled down my red crop top and revealed my black bra.
"Oh, you've done it now, Parker," I say warningly adjusting my shirt so its no longer visible.
"I swear it was an accident," Peter defends with red cheeks, "you were fighting me and I was holding you back."
I didn't wait at all. I threw a punch at him and he blocked it. 'God, he's the only person to block my punches' I thought. I punched and swung my leg out to trip him. He dodged both. I looked at him. Soon, the teacher came and sat us away from each other. I sat and put my legs on the desk in front of me. Peter still had my drawing. I growled at the thought of him. I was going to get him back. I popped the gum in my mouth and took out a new sheet of paper and started drawing webs.
I absolutely adored Spider-Man. He wasn't part of the law, yet he kept doing what he did best. No matter how many times people would call him bad, he never stopped. The one thing I wanted to know was who he was. To be friends with whoever was behind the mask was my goal. I'm a journalist, I write about different things while Parker over here photographed everything. We never really got along well, yet our boss never made us work separately. But we both agreed it would be best if we kept no secrets due to the unappreciated amount of time we would be spending together. I've been writing on Spider-Man for a while now. Peter said he's had "trouble" getting pictures of him. My articles haven't been as believable without the photographs but my writing skill has been perfect. I love writing but not on prompts. This was perfect for my liking, except for Parker.
I was cut out of my thoughts with the feelings of eyes on my head. I turned my head up and saw Peter staring at my stomach. It was revealed in the front but covered by my jacket in all the other places. I shot a glare at him and he looked down at his feet, blushing. I felt my face heat up as I looked back at my drawing. He's so...no Lily, not another one. Peter tells the teacher something and walks out. Next thing I know, Peter's name scribbled at my paper.
"You really like Parker?" This girl in front of me asked.
"No, what would make you think that?" I say back, erasing Peter's name from my Spider-Man drawing.
The girl looked at me in disbelief as I continued sketching the small webs around his name. She moved her head down to look at me. I turned my head around and propped my feet back up on the chair. I sighed and turned the page in my journal.
The Story of Spider-Man:
A vigilante who somehow manages to save each and everyone of our lives.
Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood superhero, has been saving lives second by second and doesn't seem to get the recognition he deserves. Many calling him "a misunderstood kid", though he works outside the law, you won't be stopping this guy any time soon. You can imagine seeing more of Spider-Man in your town this year! Keep on the lookout you never know when you'll be seen face to face with the man behind the mask. The bell rang. I walked out of the classroom but the teacher told me to stay. I groaned and sat back down in my chair in the back. I put my legs on the desk and texted Peter.
(Name in Peter's phone btw)
Lily💗😍: Yo loserParker🙄☺️: what
Lily💗😍: meet me @ the water fountain to talk bout our next article
Parker🙄☺️: ugh fine
I slid my phone back into my jacket pocket and looked at Ms. Hare unamused. She stared at me.
"Aren't you and this Peter boy supposed to be partners?" She asks clearly referring to the fight that happened earlier.
I rolled my eyes. "If you mean for the newspaper, yes," I say, "that doesn't mean we're friends."
"Really who were you texting just now?" She asked.
"My mom," I say and she looked surprised, "she wants me home for dinner, so gotta run. But nice seeing you, only single teacher in the entire school."
I walk off the the fountain to discuss the thing with Peter. I needed pictures for this article and I needed them soon. I turned the corner and walked to the fountain Peter and I always met up at. We lived close so we walked home together and discussed our shared articles. You whipped out your phone.
Lily💗😍: loser wth are you
Parker🙄☺️: Sorry I'm running a bit late I'll be there soon
Lily💗😍: we'll hurry your ass up
Parker🙄☺️: aw you missing me?😘
Lily💗😍: just hurry the fuck up Parker
I put my phone back up and waited for Peter. He ran late a lot, that's actually why he was in Saturday School. A panting Peter came out from around the corner. He walked up to me and started stuttering and heavily breathing excuses.
"Yeah lets just go home Park, 'kay?" I said and he quickly nodded in agreement.
We both walked home not knowing what to say to one another. I kept playing possibilities in my brain as to why he was late. Was he hiding something from me? No, we had to tell each other everything, right?
