Adaline POV
Getting a boy wasn't the problem, it was just choosing the right one. I hated the idea of commiments. Dad wasn't around, mom was mostly supressed it through working and wasn't around much either. I just decided that a one night stand, with no expectations and no long term relationship would result in no one getting hurt. Pulling my brown hazelnut hair that hit my mid-back to one side, I scanned the bar hoping some hot guy looking for a quick fuck would catch my eye.
Too Tall... Too Short... My eyes scanned to a guy with my whole body weight in muscles, nope.
"For you," the bartender winked as he slipped a yellowish orange colored drink my way. "From the young man in the back." I looked around the bar until my eyes met a set of grey colored eyes that I could barely see through the dim lighting. I was seventeen with a fake ID in the bar and was hoping this guy didn't turn out to be some creepy thirty year old, I was in no mood to start a fight tonight.
I began to drink the free beverage enjoying its pleasant taste of fruit like pineapple and mango. I made a quick glance over my right shoulder to see if the smirking man was still there, but his seat was no longer occupied. Turning back torwards the bar I downed the last of my drink, before jumping off the stool and running straight into a man with broad and thick shoulders. "Excuse me, sorry," I began feeling my cheeks flush. I looked up to see the man who had boughten me the drink, a slow smirk lifting at the right corner of his lips. From looking at him I knew he wasn't twenty-one, I have been to enough bars with my fake to know when someone is dressed older for the part.
"Not a problem baby." He smirked, his grey eyes brightening at our contact. He still had his hands firmly clamped on my shoulders and his thumb was now slowing moving up and down my left side collarbone. "I'm Jake,'' he drawled, taking his hand off my shoulder before stepping back and sticking out his hand in greeting.
"Adaline," I returned his hand shake before picking up my purse and moving so we were no longer on top of each other. He wasn't usually my choice, he was probably close to six feet, and although some people found taller guys super hot, me being only an inch or two over five feet, makes me feel towered over. "How about we get out of here?" I asked running down his chest. His pupils dialted, before grabbing my hand and nodding. I usually at this point would have gone over the fact that I only did one nighters, but he seemed to not be a relations guy so I figured this would be fun.
