Stepbrother Jake

Chapter 3

Adeline's POV
I wake up to find nothing familiar with my surroundings. Until I look to my right and hear snoring.
What the hell?
I groaned realizing I fell asleep instead of slipping out last night like normal. But he wasn't normal. He was different. Jake was so nice and I feel as if we met before. But I refuse relationships so I decided to swallow my emotions and look around the room for my clothes.
"Hey, why you going?" He murmured still sweetly sounding half asleep.
"I gotta go." I say shimmying into my shorts and quickly running over to him giving him a peck on the lips.
"No-" he tries to grab my hand. "Stay, we don't have anywhere to be." I give him a small smile and his dimple on the left side deepens, I never noticed that. It reminded me of someone I knew from grade school.
"Sorry." I rush, grabbing my bag and rushing out to the front door. After getting into my car, I see 10 missed messages, 8 from my closest friends group chat and 2 from my mom. Where r u? 8:50pm
When r u home need to talk to you. 12:30am
Shit. I need to get home before mom flips, I send a quick text telling my mom that I'm on my way home and put the car in the reverse. I note his address, maybe it will be good to remember.

Jake's POV
She's gone. No, I tried to get her to stay but she left. I hear my phone ring and rush to see if it's Adeline, Jake she doesn't have your number. God I am a mess.
Coming home early- See you soon need to talk to you.
What is that about? I think, but rush to clean the sheets and pick up my clothes. She forgot her bra, oh god she forgot her bra. I think this is my chance to try and talk to her, to give it back. Where am I going to put that bra? I hear the garage open and a car lock, god that was quick, until I realize it's 1:50pm.
Hear goes nothing, I think as I hear the front door open and see him smiling from ear to ear.
