His brown hair is slicked up with gel as it usually is. His electrifying blue eyes are always gleaming and he's got on a white plaid shirt with jeans. His outfits are always casual but fashionable.

Ryan is good looking, I'll admit. I can't blame those other girls who have crushed on him before. He's even asked me to pretend to be his girlfriend so some girls wouldn't flirt with him. Usually, that didn't work out considering how determined some girls can be.

My mother almost believed we were actually dating and got really excited. She's always wanted us to get together but Ryan and I will always just be friends for many reasons. One big reason, actually. All in all, he's like the brother I've never had.

Ryan Peters has been my best friend since we were in diapers, or make that my only real friend. In elementary school girls didn't like talking to me. Mostly because my best friend was a boy and they believed that they would catch cooties from me or something like that. Anyway, my mom and Ryan's mom are best friends, therefore causing us to meet and become best friends as well.

"I love this song!" He says as he turns up the volume on the radio. "Slow down, grab the wall, wiggle like you tryna make your ass fall off." He sings along.

I almost choke on my laughter. I'm in love with the fact that he's just so carefree and chill. I'm jealous of that trait he has because I'm pretty much the opposite of carefree. There's always something I'm stressed out about, mostly school.

But I love Ryan to death. I honestly don't know what I'd do without him. I doubt I'd be able to even survive high school without him by my side as always. We've always trusted each other with everything and I don't plan on him ever leaving my life.

We are both in his land l;j rover, which he just received last year as a gift from his parents. Both of us are on our way to school. It's the third week of our junior year, although it seems like we've been in this school forever.

Once we arrive to school, i breathe a sigh of relief when I see nobody is blocking my locker today. I quickly make my way to it, before anyone shows up, putting in the combination.

Usually there's a crowd of people, girls mostly, waiting around my locker. Obviously they weren't waiting for me. They were waiting for Chaz Carter, who's locker is only two down from mine.

I shudder at the thought of him. I wasn't surprised he wasn't here. He's probably out ditching school or something. That would be something typical of him to do.

"Aw no Chaz today?" Ryan asks, leaning up on the locker next to mine. "That's a shame. It's always funny to see you get so annoyed by him."

It was true. Chaz always got to me. I don't what it is about him, maybe that he thinks the world revolves around him, or that he thinks its cool to ditch school and drink, but he just irritates me so much. It's not like he even talks to me much, which is good. Compared to him, I'm a nobody.

Aggravated, I drum my fingers on the counter impatiently. How long does it take someone to just give me my damn pills? My hand starts to grip onto the counter, in attempt to control my anger. I glance at the watch on my wrist. Yup, I'm definitely going to be late today.

After what seems like five years, the man in the white labcoat returns with a white paper bag.

"Here you go, Chaz. Have a nice day." He smiles.

I grab the bag and head out to the parking lot, popping in two pills while I'm at it.

When I arrive at school, I quickly make my way to class. If I'm late again, my mom will kick my ass for sure. With all the tardies I received last year, the last thing she wants is me getting another one. But as I'm rushing to class, I don't pay attention to what's in front of me, causing me to knock into something and collapse to the ground.
