We all laid scattered about on the floor, a sea of shattered glass and debris around us. The wind screamed outside, gusting and blowing the windows to shatters. Valerian and Percy clung to the now broken frame of the mirror while the rest of us hugged the walls. Suddenly, I heard a scream.

"THE VORTEX!" Charity yelled. And sure enough, as soon as I'd recovered enough, I managed to peek out the broken window.

The gargantuan whirlwind reached miles into the sky. It was composed of a thick black smog that broke only enough to reveal the energy of the lightning within it. Small pieces of debris traveled throughout the dark clouds of the cyclone. I watched as the apple tree that had once been in the backyard was completely uprooted and carried to its demise within the Dark Vortex. I began to panic, realizing that in all the commotion, I had dropped my comb.

Hugging the ground, I began to crawl slowly, avoiding the pieces of shattered glass as well as preventing myself from being the Vortex's next victim. As I continued to crawl, Charity shouted.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING? ARE YOU CRAZY?" Determined, yes. Crazy, probably also yes. Suddenly, a blinding light erupted in the hallway. A shock wave emanated from the light, sending us all careening back into the floor. As the dust cleared and I was able to open my eyes, I was surprised to see a figure standing above me.

It was a girl, about my age. She had long dark hair and a swirling black dress. As I looked into her eyes, I saw a look of power and pure evil. In her hand, my comb was tightly gripped as if she didn't plan on willingly giving it back to me.

"Well well well," she began. Her voice was sinister and very sarcastic. I had a bad feeling about this girl.

"It's about time we met, darling." She stretched out her free hand. "Ysabella is the name." I refused to shake her hand. She had my most valued possession, and I wasn't too keen on formalities with a diva.

"Incompetent I see. I guess that's what happens when you grow up surrounded by moronic ingrates." Valerian charged at her.

"LEAVE HER ALONE!" he shrieked. She didn't seem fazed in the slightest. With a slight flick of her wrist, she sent Valerian flying in the other direction, causing him to go shooting out of the window. He quickly grabbed onto one of the edges and held on for dear life as the cyclone began to draw closer.

"W-what do you want from me...?" I asked, shaken. She began to chuckle again.

"Oh sister, dear. I've come to bring you home."

I watched as Valerian went soaring through the air as the strange sorceress appeared to push him with nothing but air. He would've gone completely out of the window, had it not been for part of the edge still being intact. He clung on desperately as the wind picked up his legs and tried to draw him in.

I quickly hurried to the window, reaching for his hand.

"GRAB ON!" I screamed, attempting to convey my message above the screaming of the wind. He let go with one of his hands, causing it to fly back toward the cyclone. I may have shrieked a little. Using whatever strength he could muster, he managed to push his hand against the force of the wind and grab mine. I began to try to pull him back into the room. Aurorealis, Paris, and Marina quickly came to my aid and grabbed onto me. We all then began to pull Valerian back into shelter. Corinne remained focused on the strange new character and Percy continued to cling to the mirror frame, refusing to move.
