Mia!" Ricky called out to me.
"Hey Ricky!" I said back to him. I walked from the door and gave him a hug. I could feel the eyes of Aiden's entire entourage burning holes into my body as I spoke with Ricky.
"Where's Lana?" Ricky asked
"She's on the balcony" I replied while pointing to my extremely tipsy friend dancing like she's straight out of a twerk team video.
"Yoooo...look at all that bounce" Ricky stated to no one in particular. As Ricky got lost in thought watching Lana dance, I glanced at the group of men that came in with Ricky. Some of them were around the food, some were at the bar ordering bottles, some even brought their own groupies and were looking for secluded areas to talk with them. However Aiden was still next to Ricky staring directly at me.
"Oh, before I forget..." Ricky said as he turned toward Aiden who was watching me with a penetrating stare "This is my mans, Aiden. Of course you know what he does." Rickey chuckled "Aiden, this is my girl's homegirl, Mia." I smiled as I held out my hand for Aiden to shake. He took it quickly and instead of shaking my hand, he kissed it with the softest, fullest lips I've ever experienced. I could have died at that moment. My body reacted in a way that I haven't felt in a long time. I quickly snatched my hand away and smiled sheepishly. "It was nice meeting you Aiden" I said quickly as I scrambled to get on the balcony. I was too bombed and I needed to dance off this burning desire I felt electrocuting me between my thighs.
Once I got on the balcony, immediately I could feel the base vibrating the ground beneath me. I couldn't help but allow the beat to take over me. Lana and I danced for what seemed like 30 minutes straight. The Dj knew what songs to play and when to play them. By the time we were ready for a break we were both sweating and full of laughs. As we entered the VIP we saw Ricky, Fima and Aiden on the couch talking. Carla was on the other side of the couch still paired up with her mobster friend.
Lana shrieked with excitement when she saw Ricky and jumped on his lap. He caught her and showered her glistening face with mini kisses. It was sweet and gross at the same time. I knew his lips tasted salty from all that sweat. Of course there was an open seat next to Aiden that I didn't sit in. I squeezed my full bottom in-between Fima and Ricky, I didn't want to be all up on Aiden.
"You're mighty far, beautiful Mia." Aiden said to me.
I blushed " Oh, I didn't want to crowd you"
"But you want to crowd us" Ricky said playfully
"I know when I'm not wanted" I stated as I got up and sat next to Aiden. He turned toward me and smiled. "That's more like it" He said. I just smiled since I was at a loss for words. Here I was sitting directly next to my only man crush and I had nothing to say.
"So, how long are you in Philly for?" I finally asked.
"Only for the night – I have to fly out to another country in the morning" he replied.
"Oh. Okay...well I guess that means we have to have a ball tonight, right?" I said flirtatiously
Adien placed his arm around me and smiled. He leaned in to kiss my neck and at the last moment I stood up, dodging the forwardness. Adien looked at me confused as I walked to the bar to order some water. I need to sober up a bit just in case I had to put someone in check. After I placed my order, I noticed that Adien had occupied the seat next to me.
"Why did you do that?" He questioned.
"Do what?" I responded playing dumb.
"You got up when I tried to kiss you" Aiden responded in a matter of fact tone. The way he was coming off sounded almost like I was supposed to be this easy girl and I did not like his tone. This triggered my aggressive side.
"Listen." I started as I looked him square in the eye "I know you're a big deal. I know you get girls who want you to kiss and hug on them. Girls who want you to take them home. But, I'm not one of them, okay? I don't allow men I don't know all in my space. Yes, you're fine but I don't know you and your money is nothing to me. Fame means nothing to me. Yes...you're sexy. Like, really sexy but that's beside the point. You're not entitled to touch this, so don't." I frankly explained. Those multiple drinks really had me feeling free to express myself. I felt like I lost any type of filter I might have had.
Adien looked at me smirking; I think he was amused. "Is that so?" he asked slowly. I glared at him with a look that warned he was barking up the wrong tree. I grabbed my bottle of water, dropped a $20 in the tip box and left the bar. That hopefully served as enough of an answer for him. I walked back to the couch annoyed that this man that I viewed to be this amazingly heart-felt guy, was just like all of the other celebs out there. Just a squirrel looking for his next nut from the hottest chick he could find that night.
I sipped my water slowly as I was lost in thought. Lana and Ricky were gone—probably off being nasty, Fima was over in a dark corner chatting with Tammy, and Carla was grabbing her bag to leave with her mobster mystery man; she waved to me as she walked out. So it was me, all alone in the VIP section, trying to avoid the very man I came to see.
After what seemed like 15 minutes, Aiden left the bar and made his way back to the VIP section and sat next to me.
"You know, I've never met a woman who has turned me down." Aiden started then paused. I rolled my eyes. "What? Were his feelings hurt now? The baby didn't get what he wanted?" I thought to myself. While these thoughts were consuming my brain, I just nodded as Aiden spoke. "Anyway, I just wanted to apologize for assuming you were like any other girl I've encountered. And I would like to start over." he paused. I stared at him, at a loss for words. I must have looked confused because Aiden continued to ramble. "Uh, I mean, you know. " He stammered. "It's been a while since I've met a beautiful woman who was so, direct." He finished. I smiled. "Sure, we can start over." I replied.
For the rest of the evening, we talked, laughed, and shared heart felt advice for one another. We found that we had a lot in common, from our love of art and romantic dates, to our love of reading and enjoying the simple things in life. He even watches CNN every morning like I do. Aiden shared that even though he enjoyed the one stands, he was kind of tired of looking for nightly companionship but was considering looking for that someone to settle down with, someone that was willing to travel the world with him during his tours and to award shows; someone to be wifey. While that sounded amazing, I knew I wouldn't work out for that lifestyle.
Aiden, learned that I was well respected business professional in Philadelphia. He knew that I was also looking forward to settling down with someone who was more stable in their living situation. While I loved to travel, my dream was to be with someone I could come home to every night. Aiden's profession wouldn't allow that.
Despite our difference, Aiden and I talked and laughed the night away. We were so engrossed in our conversation that we didn't even notice the house lights come on, a sign that club time was over and everyone had to leave.
I smiled at Aiden. "It was such a pleasure meeting you." "Likewise" he replied. I stood up and grabbed my bag. I dug in my purse searching for my phone to get in contact with Lana. When I found it a sent her a quick text
"Hey boo. Club is closing. Where R U?"
I looked up and saw Aiden staring at me. "What's up?" I asked. He replied "This night doesn't have to end here. Even though there was food being served, I barely ate anything. You wanna grab something to eat?"
"Sure, that sounds like an awesome idea." I beamed. "Let me text Lana so she doesn't come looking for me." Aiden nodded and I began texting again.
"Hey babes, change of plans. Meet me at my spot in the morning. I'm going to grab dinner with Aiden." I typed. Before I could place my phone in my bag Lana responded.
"WHAT!?! Girl, have fun! Be safe. Ricky and I are going to a hotel for the night, I'll still stop by tomorrow. We took Jon, the driver too BTW. Sorry! "
I looked up at Aiden who was busy texting away on his phone. "Do you have a driver or should I call for one?" I asked. "I have one." Aiden responded smiling.
"Girl! You're so lucky Aiden has a driver.!" I texted back. I looked up at Aiden who was talking on his phone intensely. Once he saw that I was finished with my conversation, he smiled at me and finished his call.
"Ok, Mia, you ready?" He asked. I smiled at him and replied "I'm ready for almost anything."
