Chapter 19

Nothing is better than waking up on a Thursday morning to the smell of freshly cooked pancakes. I take my seat on the island bench with the rest of the family for the first time.

“What do you guys think of Diana?” Adrian asks us as we dig into our breakfast.

“Diana is gorgeous and really smart.” Mum says.

“You done well, son.” Dad says.

“She’s the best. I can already see the future of us ruining your life.” I say mockingly.

“You’re getting nowhere near her.” Adrian points his fork at me.

I put my dirty dishes in the sink, “you’re too late. Diana is coming shopping with Lisa and metonight.” It was all last minute plans. When we hugged, Diana slipped a paper into my pocket with her number in it and a message saying:-‘If you need help pranking Adrian, just call/ text me :) –Diana x’. I texted her and Lisa, we should have a girls night tomorrow and maybe we could get some stuff to prank Adrian. This is going to be great.

I walk to my room to get ready for school and do my everyday morning routine. Parking my car, I instantly see Lisa talking with Craig. I wonder how he reacted after Lisa told him the news. I turn off my car, taking the key out of the ignition and lock the door once I’ve gotten out.

Thinking of walking to Lisa, I refuse. I don’t want to intrude with the couple. I walk straight to class, not bothering if I’m early or not. Once I reach the class room, I take my seat at my usual seat and read Catching Fire.

“I heard Adrian has a new girlfriend.” Someone with a squeaky voice approaches me, interrupting my reading time.

I look up from my book to see Adrian’s ex, Lexi. “What’s it to you?”

Lexi takes a seat on the table next to me, “nothing, didn’t think he would ever get over me. Because you know he loved me and was so whipped over me. I bet you anything, he still loves me.

I give her a glare, “don’t think so highly of you. If it wasn’t for Adrian you wouldn’t even have friends. But I guess the only reason why you’re as popular as your mum’s vagina is because you’re known for sleeping with every guy on the football team. I guess you get it from your genes.”

Lexi stands up, causing her chair to fly back, “Bitch, are you trying to call me a slut?”

“Oh no, I would rather describe you as a hooker, prostitute, tramp or whore. But if you want to call yourself a slut as well, I’ll definitely add that to the list.”

“Oh no you didn’t!” Lexi lifts her right hand, getting ready to slap me.

Lexi swings her arms but my reflexes are really fast, I’m able to catch her arm, “you got to try harder than that, darling.” I push Lexi backwards.

“You wait. I’m going to get you one day.” Lexi points her index finger at me.

“Oooo, I’m so scared.” I say sarcastically. Lexi walks out with her middle finger up. I take my seat and put Catching Fire back into my bag. She just ruined my reading time and mood.

Before I knew it, I look up to see every single face is staring at me. “Take a photo it’ll last longer.” Then there’s a flash. I see one of the class nerds hold his camera phone, “I didn’t mean it, gosh.” I hear a whimper coming from his mouth and he tries to hide.

Nate walks through the group, “hey, what’s wrong?” he asks me, sitting in the seat Lexi was sitting in. “Everyone in the hall are talking about you and Lexi arguing. What’s that about?” Great, now the whole school is talking about Lexi and me.
