"Victoria Collins - do you take Toby Turner to be your husband; to live together in the covenant of marriage? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all others, be faithful to him as long as you both shall live?"
Hazel eyes meet blue eyes.
"I do," she whispers.
"And Toby Turner, do you take Victoria Collins to be your wife, to live together in the covenant of marriage? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all others, be faithful to her as long as you both shall live?" the minister inquires with a smile as he turns to the groom.
"I do," he breathes, his chest rising and falling with a deep intake of air.
The bride wipes away a stray tear dancing on her cheek, squeezing her soon-to-be husband's hand.
"Then, by the power invested in me I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."
An emotional kiss is shared between the two and cheers cry from around the newlyweds.
"A toast, to Mr. and Mrs. Turner!" A man holds up a glass filled with a red champagne.
With an arm around his wife, Toby chuckles and raises his glass for a moment before taking the cup to his lips and taking a celebratory drink.
And I myself raise a glass to the newlyweds. May their life be filled with joy and happiness. Or, maybe not.
