Aphmau
Garroth had returned with a dead sheep. He stuck his head through my window, struggling to attempt to crawl in through the window, then gave up halfway through. He insisted he wasn't stuck when I offered help, but it was pretty obvious.
"Garroth, I'm a human, not a dragon, I can't eat raw food or else I'll get really sick, is there a way you can cook this?" I asked him. He looked at me like I was stupid, then took a deep breath and lit the sheep on fire. After I finally managed to put the fire out, the sheep was too charred to eat.
"Sorry lady Aphmau, I'll find something else for you, just wait here, I'll be right back." Garroth apologized. After struggling to pull himself out the window, he flew off again, this time bringing back an entire apple tree in a giant pot. He push the tree through the window and pushed it upright with his tail. I thanked him and grabbed an apple off the tree, not realizing how hungry I was until I took a bite. He was about to say something to me but a loud and angry shout from the ground interrupted him.
"HEY LIZARD FACE, RELEASE THE PRINCESS OR ILL WEAR YOUR BONES AS A CROWN!!" The angered human shouted. Garroth turned to him and snarled, showing his giant fangs.
"I don't think I like this human Aphmau, what do you think of him?" Garroth asked me quietly, so the human wouldn't hear, roaring loudly after his words so the human wouldn't hear him speak. "He seems rude, and a bit to old to be your hero and marry you" he commented
"Marry me? What are you talking about?" I asked him, startled at his comment. Garroth simply swooped down, whacking the human a few feet away with his large horns. The man instantly ran to his horse and rode away.
"ONLY A YOUNG HERO WITH A KIND AND PURE HEART CAN TAKE THE PRINCESS AWAY FROM ME," Garroth roared, his wings fully extended to make himself appear larger and scarier. Garroth flew back up to my tower, sticking his head through the window. "Haven't you ever read a classic fairytail before m'lady? The dragon kidnaps a princess then a hero will come and save her and they get married and live happily ever after!" Garroth told me, a smile on his scaled face. I giggled at his innocence.
"That not how it works Garroth, my old best friend, he was like you with the fairy tails, used to tell me a bunch of fairy tails like that, but the dragon always dies in the end. Plus, princesses are forced to marry just for more power and alliances, never for love or happiness. It's sad honestly." I told him. It actually hurt me to see the smile and and innocence fade from his face, his slit pupils widened with sadness.
"W-well then you'll be different! You'll be the greatest queen ever and everyone will love you! Why don't you marry your old friend and be happy. You can be the dragon taming queen and I'll be your loyal dragon, no one will ever hurt you with me around!" He said to me, his eyes filling with excitment, smiling so widely his dangerously sharp fangs were showing. I smiled softly.
"Garroth, my old friend vanished long ago, plus, humans are cruel, no one believes a 'little fragile princess' can rule a kingdom, 'only a brave strong amazing king' can" I told him. He just puffed smoke from his nose.
"Well then be a king!" Garroth told me boldly. "Show them how incredible and strong you are, you weren't even scared when a DRAGON came and stole you from your home! You're not some fragile little snowflake princess! You're a warrior! So much greater than any King, and you're only 18!" Garroth told me excitedly, filling me with confidence. I smiled back at him, then yawned.
"It's getting late, I'm going to go to sleep now, you should too, goodnight m'lady" Garroth said to me, dropping from my window and gliding into the main entry, sealing it behind him.
