  • Dedicated to Alexandra: faithful friend and like another mother

Nineteen year old, muscular, tanned, Brown haired, Ben nearly ran into a slim, blonde teenager. Squeezing past, he pays for his black button down shirt. Turning around, he catches the girl's blue eyes. Flashing her a quick smile, he exits the store.

Outside, he hears someone jogging after him. He turns around and sees the girl from inside the store.

"Hey, do you know where I can find Mr. Jack Wolfe?" She asked, walking fast to keep up with his long strides.

"Yeah, he's my father. I'm actually on my way to see him right now. Come with me." Ben replied.

"Thanks! I'm Alex by the way."

"Ben. Turn left here."

Turning the corner, a white limousine quickly pulls up. Opening the door for Alex, he waits for her to climb in.

~~

After weaving in and out of Chicago traffic for a forty minutes, the limo pulls into a long, curvy driveway. Two minutes later they pause at a tall steel gate with tall stone walls. Shortly after the driver murmurs a few words into the speaker, the gate opens. Slowly, the limo pulls up to a stone mansion with a huge field with the sunset in the back.

Inside,a tall wolf statue greets them. Behind a wide marble staircase between two pillars. Two teenage girls run down and hug Ben. Ben glances up and sees his father at the top of the stairs.

Jack sweeps down the stairs case and puts an arm around Alex. "You must be Alexandra! Please join me in my study."

"I go by Alex, not Alexandra," she mutters.

"Go tell Snip to finish his work. He should be upstairs" Jack calls over his shoulder as he ushers Alex into a side room.

Glowering, Ben climbs the stairs with the two girls trailing him. Turning to them he snarls, "Alice, Grace, go find some other wolf to bug."

Flipping her long light brown hair over her shoulder, Alice replies, "it isn't my fault that you can't find your mate by the next full moon. Snip just doesn't want to change me yet."

Ignoring his father's orders, he goes to his room. Looking in, the brass queen-sized bed with dark brown covers sits against the far wall. To the left of the bed is a medium walk in closet. On the other side is a night stand with a lamp next to a window. Sitting opposite of the bed is a television on his dresser. Suddenly, a bit of dust floats down. Then a loud crash.

Picking up his walking stick, he hit the ceiling twice. First one meaning "quiet" and the second one meaning "stop", translating into "Stop and be quiet". After a moment he says, "There's a visitor. Possibly a new wolf."

It's silent then a young boy, fourteen years old, pops his curly head in the open door. "They want to know if it's a boy or girl, approximate age, looks, and if the parents are here."

"Girl, around seventeen, 5'4 with blonde hair and blue eyes, came alone in really old clothes."

"Thanks, Ben!"

"Tell the wolves to stay away from her. In fact, I don't want to see the younger ones talking to her. They messed up last time with Grace and I don't want a repeat this time. That's an order, Snap."

After watching him leave, he walks to his closet. In the far corner is a tall wooden chest, with a lock. Taking out the key to the chest he opens it.

Two shelves are filled up with tiny vials of two different liquids. On the top shelve is "WA" (werewolf antidote) that stops the transformation during the full moon. Even though he can call on his wolf at any moment, he is forced to transform with the lower wolves during the full moon, as the lower wolves only fully transform with the moon. The other one Is "AWS" (active wolf senses). It activates his senses that he acquires during the full moon in wolf form. Even though his senses are better in wolf form, they are best that one night every month.

Wincing, he picks up an AWS, a one of a kind creation, and quickly swallows it. Blinking, he hears Alice and Snip kissing in Snip's bedroom and the young wolves upstairs talking about Alex. Suddenly, a sweet scent hits him. His heart racing he opens his bedroom door.

It's mixed with his father's musky scent. Listening he hears his father explain that even though his family is mainly runaways transformed into wolves, he hopes she will be happy. Just then, he realizes that Alex is his mate and that she must be with him forever.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I'm not very confident that this is a good story as I have not written any stories in a few years. I did not proofread this as I believe it to be poorly written. If enough people are okay with it, I will complete chapter 2 (currently working on) and post it. Thank you for taking your time to read this.
