I smiled all the way to my job interview.
I had always wanted a little girl.
I quickly shook those thoughts out of my head and smoothed out my outfit.
"Here." Nathan says as we pull up to the curb.
I nod and get out.
"I'm going alone." I call back over my shoulder as I hear him open the door.
I hear him sigh before the door closes again.
-------
"So this is your first job." The lady interviewing me asks. I nod nervously.
"But I have had lots of experience making coffee?" I say in more of a question than answer. The lady nods.
"Any health concerns we have to know about?" She asks and I bite my lip.
Here goes the tough part. You would think she would've seen the obvious bulge when I walked in. She probably thought I was fat.
"Uh yeah actually..." I trail off looking for the right words. "I'm sorta, with child." I finally spit out.
She woman doesn't even seemed fazed. "Okay then, we can set up a leave for about six weeks for child care." She says sweetly. "When are you due?" She asks.
"Um November I think." That's not too far away...
"Alright."
Then it hits me. "So I got the job?!" I say excitedly.
"Well we are short on employees and you seem to be pretty perfect for the job." She says confirming it.
I beam.
"Thank you." I say and she nods then gestures for me to leave. I walk out of the little shop happily.
I spot my car in the parking lot to the side, Nathan was dozing in the front seat. I run as fast as I can over to him.
As I open the door and get in, he wakes up.Nathan looks at me sleepily and I shut the door.
"I got it!" I say happily. Nathan breaks out grinning.
"That's great." He says equally happy.
I nod then lean back into the sleep for a nap, I couldn't believe how tired I was.
I sit up when the car starts to move.
"Where are we going?" I ask confused. Nathan just grins then answers.
"To celebrate."
