Lightning breaks through thunder

As shadows cast out the light

Watching my strength torn asunder

Finding it hard to tell from black and white

Everything's the same

Another day brings more pain

Finding the world inane

Maybe it's just me who's gone insane

Tomorrow I'll return again

When I let loose my shame

And the world falls in fire and rain

The fire will be my burning passion

Desire for survival

There's no time for crashin'

My heart and soul's revival

The rain is my calm

Serenity and peace

I'll have the world in my palm

Slowly drawing breath at ease

I won't apologize for letting go of the past
