LITTLE RED RIDING HOODIE
Once upon a modern time, a girl in a red hoodie made her way to The Grannies, the biggest record label around. She may have been small and may have been young but her music was new and different. Everyone called her Little Red Riding Hoodie because of the red hooded jacket she always wore. On this one day she peddled her bicycle through her neighbourhood making her way into town. The day was sunny, the air crisp and smelling of autumn, but the wind had picked up and whipped against Little Red Ridding Hoodie's face as she rode. Her demo tape was tucked safely away in her bag awaiting her interview. Little Red Riding Hoodie's mother had told her specifically to go straight to The Grannies and not to dilly-dally along the way, even though there was time before the interview.
Little Red Riding Hoodie rode her bike through town, the wind whipping against her but her hood keeping it from her eyes. She peddled down the streets, bubbling over with her excitement, hoping and praying that The Grannies would like her music and want her to sign a contract. Little Red Riding Hoodie was so overjoyed she just had to stop so she could share her big news with someone. She knew just the person too; Axel, the owner of her favourite music store in town and her close friend.
Little Red Riding Hoodie turned her bike in the direction of Axel's shop and began riding again until she was in front of the shabby yet homely storefront. Every piece of window of the shop was covered in big multi-coloured posters advertising a massive sale. Little Red Riding Hoodie walked into the shop and was greeted with the familiar smell of firewood, coffee and the smell of new CDs, Records and tapes. It was a strange mix but it felt like home, it was comforting. Axel's shop was full of people looking through the mountains of music looking for something they liked and as Little Red Riding Hood entered the throng of people she forgot the reason she was there. She flicked through a couple of CDs and could imagine her own music there in a shop with other people buying it one day. Her head snapped up and she remembered the real reason she was there was to see Axel and tell him her brilliant news about getting an interview. She squeezed through the masses of people in the crowded shop until she found Axel, a tall man with dreadlocks held back in a headband, stacking more music onto shelves.
"Well, it's Little Red Riding Hoodie, my girl, I wasn't expecting to see you round today. What are you doing here?"he asked, a wide grin on his kind face.
"I came to tell you my fantastic news Axel. I've got an interview at The Grannies this afternoon so I can give them my demo tape," Little Red Riding Hoodie told him cheerfully.
"That is fantastic news, good luck, you should probably get going then it's almost noon," Axel replied.
"See you later Axel," She said. walking out the door.
Little Red Riding Hoodie climbed back on her bike and began riding to The Grannies. She, nor, Axel had noticed young Wolfbanger, Little Red Riding Hoodie's musical rival eavesdropping on their earlier conversation. He had overheard that she had an interview that afternoon and he planned to stop her so she would not get the record deal they both dreamed of. Wolfbanger cut through back alleyways and side streets so he might get in front of her and try to convince her that her music wasn't good enough. Then just as Little Red Riding Hoodie came ridding along on her bike, Wolfbanger came around the corner and stopped her.
"Little Red Riding Hoodie, what is the rush, do you have somewhere important to be?"he challenged.
"I do actually, I have an interview at The Grannies soon and I should be getting along," she answered.
"Yeah right, as if that's true," Wolfbanger sneered.
"It is, my interview is at 2 o'clock," Little Red Riding Hoodie replied.
Wolfbanger could only let her pass and be on her way because his plan had failed, but he had a new plan now, a better one. She rode away on her way to The Grannies as Wolfbanger did the same except taking a short cut that would get him there faster.
Wolfbanger got to The Grannies faster than Little Red Riding Hoodie and walked into the main office being sent through by the secretary. Wolfbanger hurried inside and put his plan into action; tying the interviewer up and putting him in the closet and taking off his beanie and glasses to disguise himself. When Little Red Riding Hoodie came he told her that her music wasn't what their company wanted.
"My how unfair and rude you are," she stated feeling let down.
"All the better to reject you," he replied.
Just when Little Red Riding Hoodie was about to leave the door burst open and Axel came into the room. He looked around suspiciously before he opened the closet and found the interviewer tied up. They all looked at each other in shock before Wolfbanger bolted as fast as his legs would carry him out the door. And Little Red Riding Hoodie became one of the biggest music artist around.
The End
