Tom's P.O.V

The blood moon ball is tonight and I still have not asked Marco to be my date. To be fair I have not even told him I liked him or that I wanted to date him. I am nervous since Marco and I never got along and the first time we met he cut off my hand.

I do have a plan to get Marco to come. I am going to ask Star to the dance. Knowing her she will not want to go at first, but I will give her a bell so when she decides to go she can ring the bell. I know she will go because the bell will constantly remind her and her curiosity will get the best of her. Once Star goes Marco will want to protect her and make sure she is safe and knowing Star she will forget the bell in her room which Marco will use to come down to the underworld. It just goes downhill from there.

I walk to my carriage and have it open a portal to the school. In front of the school is a kid with longs bangs covering his eyes.

"Hey, that's a handicap spot- " the kid starts to say before my skeleton horse gives him a sharp glare. I walk out of the carriage and start to walk toward Star and Marco's class.

As I walk I hear people asking who I was and girls commenting on my looks. I really could care less that all the girls think I am hot, in the past it would have meant the world to me, but right now all I care about is what Marco thinks of me.

I walk into the classroom. I spot Star and Marco sitting in the second row. Marco is sitting next to Star. I levitate the desk with the girl in front of Star out of the way and float over to her. I remove my sunglasses before speaking to her.

"Hey, Star. I'm here to take you...," I then make a flaming crescent moon in my hand. "...to the Blood Moon Ball." Star immediately drags me outside and brings me to my carriage.

"Nope-nope-nope-nope-nope. You need to leave right now. Take your carriage and fire and dead horse, and go back to the underworld," Star tells me. My skeleton horse then looks over at us.

"Wait I'm dead?" he asks. I pay no attention to the horse as Star tries to walk away.

"Oh, come on, Starship!" I yell out to her. I then sweep her off her feet with my flames and into my arms. In the past having Star this close I would feel amazing, but right now I feel nothing.

"It's the Blood Moon Ball! It only happens once every 667 years," I tell her to try and convince her. She flips backward out of my arms.

"We broke up! Period! " She tells me in exasperation. I wanna tell her to thank you for breaking up with me and introducing me to Marco but I stay in character.

"Wait, wait, wait, wait. Star, hang on. I'm a changed man, okay? I've got a life coach, Brian," I say as I point to Brian.

"Hey," Brian says to Star.

"He's awesome. A happy bunny. And, and I have been anger-free for 53 days," I say. I then point to the button on my shirt that says I have been anger free for 53 days. It has also been 53 days since I first met Marco. Who is the reason I started the program.

"53?" Star asks me questioningly. I quickly change the subject so she does not focus to much on how many days.

"Don't you want to pet my bunny? " I ask her. I then see Marco walking around. I can not help but walk towards him to say hi.

"Hey Marco," I say a little nervous but hope he does not notice.

"Hey Tom, what are you doing here?" He asks with suspicion.

"He wants to take me to the Blood Moon Ball," Star says before I can say anything.

"Star, never go with a predator to a second location," Marco says. Which honestly hurt a bit. I start to pet my bunny to ease my anger and nerves. Mostly nerves.
