A grey light is rumored to have appeared in a woods near by the home of a young teen. They say it begs for company and pulls you into the woods and the people brought into the woods never come back. The first to experience this was the lone 19 year old who searched for the source and went missing two hundred years ago.
People ignored it and the house was left to rot. Later people reported that the light was getting closer and closer to the edge of the woods. "I'll wait for you." It'd say. "Forever." It sounded so lonely. The people soon got fed up with the sounds and sent someone off to fight it. Kill it. Rid the town if it. End it's misery.
The man brave enough to fight the thing went into the woods but he didn't return. "You promised me!" It would scream. "You always kept your promises." It would say solemnly, it's voice echoing off the forest trees and rustling the leaves. The dark grey light seemed to get brighter. As if burning with an anger. The light however remained in its old spot in the woods for another two hundred or so years. "He wasn't the one." It growled.
In current time the towns people met someone of a new aura. The light in the woods kept people away so the new face was a great thing for the town. "I've heard about the light legend and came to see if it were true." A college student researching myths explained to a couple he was staying with. "It's been there for as long as the towns folk remember." The women in her late thirties said. "The voice almost sounds human. It's just the fact it sounds like it comes from everywhere that throws people off." The man explained casually.
"Does if ever come out in the day?" The brown haired student asked. "No. The woods are completely safe in daylight." The woman said. "I'm sorry dear. I'm horrible with name. May I ask it again?" The women asked. "Yes. My name is Robert Latskey however I'll go by Rob." Rob said. "I'm so sorry Robert or un I mean Rob. I know you know my name, however you haven't learnt my husbands name. His name is Kyle." The woman host points to her husband as if he couldn't tell who he was even though there were only two people in the room besides himself.
"Thank you for your help Katherine." Rob smiled. The student then spent the rest of his day setting up his room. He opened the closet door to put his clothes away. A small hole was cut in the wall and in there was a dark blue gem. "Are you sure you can make it back here? I don't want to burden you." A voice pierced through his thoughts like a sharp sword. It sounded high pitched almost child like. A small jolt ran through Rob's body. The gem was gone and so was the hole.
"There was a hole here moments ago! Where'd it go?" Rob growled as he poked the area. Soon giving up he went back to hanging up his cloths. Later he went to put his camera and SD card in a drawer. He pulled it out and lone behold a small box sat in there. He opened the top and another gem sat in it. He picked it up and stared at it. "Did I put this away and not realize it? But the what happened to the hole?" Rob sighed and put the gem back and closed the drawer. "I promise! I haven't ever broken a promise before have I?" The voice giggled. The voice of a young boy. (A/N: When I was a young boy.)
Rob turned around looking for the source. He checked the drawer. Gone. The 18 year old lay back on the bed and sighed. "This town sure is odd." Rob spoke to the ceiling. The rest of the night went on as normal.
Rob crawled into bed and grabbed his camera. There he explained the highs events. "And then the hole disappeared a-" Rob was cut off by a voice. "Please come back." It begged. "The voice sounded like a younger version of that!" Rob exclaimed. He finished the recording and hit save. He slipped the camera into the drawer.
"I'm so alone." The voice echoed through the empty room and down the hall. Rob shivered. He covered his ears with his hands and tried to sleep. "It's so cold..." The echoing voice trailed off. It was even more clear than before. "You're presence is stronger than before." It sighed. "I miss you." It faded away. The rest of the night was dead silent.
Rob awoke the next morning not even realizing he fell asleep. He showered and got dressed before grabbing his camera. He scribbled down on a sheet
I'll be out in the woods today. I'll be back soon.
~Rob
With that he left the house and headed towards the forest which was south of where he lived. The grey light was just fading away as he approached. Rob walked towards its general direction. The forest floor had holes which housed smaller animals and tiny little nests up in the trees.
A small glint in the corner of Rob's eyes caught his attention. On its side lay another blue gem. He went to pick it up. He went to walk back onto the path. "To our three months of friend ship!" A kid said as he walked into Rob's line of vision. He grabbed his camera. The voices echoed in his head. Were they real? "Follow!" The brown haired kid grinned. His skin was pale and he had freckles on his face. "Okay S...." A crackling was heard where the name should have been. Rob followed them now knowing that the voices were all in his head. He followed them and was lead right where the grey light was.
There was a small clearing in the area which had no grass. There were two rocks that appeared to be used as chairs Rob inferred. The vision of the two kids faded. The area shifted a little around him. There were now small trees sprouting and moss sat atop the two rocks. The rocks also seemed a bit weathered.
The soil was damp and the trees were full of vibrant greens. A light breeze rustled the leaves. The saplings were cleared in a specific area. Right in the center. They formed an X shape. A blue gem was wedged in the center. Rob went to touch it.
"Wow S..." The voice was blotched out by white noise. "It's so cool! I can't believe you found a place that was so secluded and perfect." A kid with jet black hair exclaimed. The kid had a light blue eye on the right and a light grey one on the left. His skin was tan and he seemed to be quite thin even for his age. "I wish that we didn't have to meet like this." The brown haired kid sighed. "I wish I weren't so different." The black haired child said quietly.
"Oh don't be silly. Being different is what makes you so cool! Hey can you do the thing again?" The brown haired kid asked. "Sure think S..." Static. The vision faded. Rob felt a bit of disappointment having not seen what the brunet thought was so cool.
Rob went home.
A/N: This is unfinished, but I actually feel like finishing this one maybe.
