Dawson's POV
How am I supposed to concentrate on Chemistry homework when I've just been told about the possibility of there being other super teens? I try to reach my sisters thoughts but all I get is silence. Why is she blocking me out? I decide to go find out. I walk across the hall to her room and knock.
"What do you want?" She yells through the door.
"Why are you blocking me?" I ask knowing full well that she knows what I'm talking about. "Because it's hard to concentrate on my AP Geography homework when you keep on thinking about irrelevant topics," I can tell Demi is annoyed with me because she only speaks to me like I'm stupid when she's annoyed. I roll my eyes, walk into her room, and flop down onto her bed. She automatically moves my legs so she can sit on the edge of it. No matter how annoyed she is with me I can always get her to talk.
"So...what do you think about the Academy?" I ask her looking at her face so that I can read her emotions. She looks at me with a completely blank face.
"Personally I find the idea of us going to a super teen school a bit pointless. I mean we can control our powers perfectly fine, and it's not like we're going to destroy the world with elemental powers and teleportation." She says and I can tell she doesn't want to talk much about it. I press on anyways.
"Ya but I mean, wouldn't it be pretty beneficial to just be able to fine tune our powers so that there's never a chance that they could get out of control?" I ask her knowing she'll have an answer.
"You speak as if our powers are a separate being. We are our powers Dawson and we control them. Powers don't have a mind of their own." Yup that's what I was expecting her to say.
"Well I still think we should go," I say looking at her floor.
"Yeah well dad will only let us go if we both want to, and I don't." She says and I take that as my cue to leave. I will convince her that this is a good thing, whether she wants to believe it or not.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Demi's POV
The rest of the day after my conversation with Dawson was me tuning him out. Every five minutes I'd hear him think and it got annoying real fast. After three hours of this I was so done. "Dawson if you don't knock it off I'm going to come in there and kill you!!!" I yell across the hallway. "You won't kill me Demi, you don't have the guts," he yells back. I get up and storm into his room, not even knocking. "Dawson, I swear if you don't shut up right now I'm going to kill you!" I watched as his look of surprise gets replaced with a smug one.
"No you won't," is all he says in return to my threat.
"Yes. I. Will." I grit back.
"Prove it," he says simply. Those two words were all I needed to hear. I look at his hands and see that they're ready with his powers. Oh so that's how you wanna play is it now? I look up at the ceiling and feel for the water in the pipes. With a rushing sound it comes to my hands and before Dawson has the time to think I doused not only his hands, which were readying fire, but the entirety of his body. He looks back at me, the smug look on his face becoming a look of malice.
"Not fair!!!" He yells knowing full well that I have easier access to water than he does fire. I see his hands readying again and I listen for the sound I know is coming. I hear a whoosh and a strong wind comes my way. I imagine myself grasping rocks and I stay perfectly still as the wind picks up speed and strength, the papers from Dawson's desk becoming a part of the wind now. There's a cracking sound and a bunch of pebbles come flying through Dawson's window. They bruise all of his body making him lose concentration. He drops the wind and the papers fall from mid-air. Dawson's room is now strewn apart as though a tornado had hit it. And in all fairness a tornado kinda did hit it. As we evaluate the mess we had made we hear yelling from downstairs. "Demi!!! Dawson!!! Get down here right now!!!"
