Nightclouds Heartache

Chapter five

  Nightpaw leaped on top of a Shadowclan apprentice. Taken by surprise, the apprentice fell to the ground. He tried wiggling free but Nightpaw was to strong for him. Nightpaw raked her claws down his exposed belly. He let out a yowl of pain. He gave one last heave and escaped Nightpaw's claws. He got up and fled the battle. Nightpaw turned around and saw her mother getting pushed down fiercely by a Shadowclan tom. Nightpaw leaped onto him and tore him off Breezeheart. Nightpaw ripped a chunk of his ear off. This tom though was a fierce fighter. He threw himself on top of Nightpaw. She wriggled underneath him, but to no avail. He clawed her back and she screeched in pain. Suddenly, the weight was lifted off of her. Nightpaw spun around. Behind her Crowpaw was wrestling the tom that had been on top of her. Her heart warmed at the thought of Crowpaw saving her. She leaped beside Crowpaw and started clawing the toms chest. He let out a howl of pain, "All right you win! Just please get off of me!" The young tom pleaded desperately."
"Wow, I didn't know that Shadow clan was so wimpy!" Crowpaw snarled.
"Wimp!" Nightpaw shouted after him, as he ran away.
Nightpaw turned and saw that Tallstar was shouting something at Blackstar.
"I'm not giving you my territory!" Tallstar declared angrily. Blackstar opened his mouth to reply, only to be pulled down by a group of Windclan cats. Nightpaw ran to help, but got blocked by a big Shadowclan tom. He lifted his paw to swipe. His paw froze in midair and his ears pricked up in surprise when he heard Blackstar's yowl.
"Shadowclan, retreat!" Blackstar called, quickly. The huge tom leaped away from her and ran away.
Smiling to herself, Nightpaw called, "And stay out, Cowards!"
