Part 13

It had been several weeks since Andrew and I had been together, he in Andy's human body. Every day was difficult, true, but it felt less agonizing now, knowing that my lover was waiting for me too. If there was one thing I had learned, it was how to persevere and endure through time.

Now, when I went to watch Andy, almost every night, he would go outside and stand around, just looking, presumably for me. I wondered if Andrew could sense where I was within Andy, or if he, too, was limited by Andy's human body? Twice I let Andy see me, and he looked happy, smiling and waving enthusiastically. I returned the gesture before winking away into the shadows. It was hard not to give in to the temptation more often. I had to remind myself that I didn't belong in Andy's world. It was so difficult to watch him and know that Andrew was, indeed, there; but Andy wasn't the same as Andrew.

I remember, one night, I had been feeding, when I had smelled Andy's blood from another part of L.A. Terrified he was in danger, I had quickly healed my prey and wiped the human woman's thoughts, then streaked through the sky to Andrew's patio- Andy, my mind had quickly corrected me, it was Andy, Andrew was only a passenger inside of Andy, but he could see me.

Andy had looked frightened when I landed. It had taken me a moment to process why he should be taken aback. I supposed, to a human man, a vampire that had been interrupted with an emergency while eating appeared exceptionally ghastly. I had also just come out of the air at a rather high speed. But I had been concerned! Luckily, Andy had seemed unharmed. "I apologize for startling you, Andy Biersack. You called?"

Andy had put his hand to the side of his head and frowned, then whispered,"I'm fucking married!"

I remember that had gotten me to raise an eyebrow. "Pardon?" Older vampires sometimes fell behind the times on human social conventions. Maybe it was time I watched some newer movies to try and blend in?

Andy had straightened with a sigh. "Oh, nothing. Andrew is just a pain in the ass. He would like, a, um, hug. Because that is all he's getting."

I embraced Andy, along with Andrew, trapped in Andy's body. He was so warm, and smelled so characteristically masculine, so like him. Well, with tobacco added into the mix. I had pulled away quickly as I felt my tongue twitch loose when I had instinctively curled into his neck.

Andy had told me that he had called me because he was going to travel briefly, as some manner of attempt he was making to revive Andrew. He hadn't wanted me to follow him, as he was worried for my safety, since I was a living vampire, (if you could call vampires living). It had taken quite an effort for me to appear encouraging and not overly cynical. I doubt I had succeeded. Once I caught the drift of what he was saying, I had been so shocked, I had gone a bit numb.

Andy had left a few days hence, and I'd respected his wishes, reluctantly, sitting at home, trying to engage myself in hobbies and not worry about idiot, human men doing idiot, human things with no chance of any good coming of it.

What was Andy up to? Witchcraft? Pacts with the Devil? Some other occult business? Or even worse- science and technology?!? I knew nothing about that hocus pocus, that was human stuff. Of course I had no hope that Andy would actually somehow successfully fashion Andrew his own, separate, bodily, vampiric form. Should he somehow manage to create such a vessel, it was impossible that Andy would be able to transfer Andrew's soul into it.

However, I was very appreciative of Andy's efforts. He seemed like a kindhearted boy. I was resolved to do something nice for him upon his return, maybe pay his rent for a few years or buy him a car. Humans liked those sorts of things. Perhaps a-

I set down my notebook. That was strange... I smelled Andy's scent, but both he and Juliet were out of town until tomorrow on their hare-brained quest. Could it be a fan that had a large number of Andy's things? Perhaps a coworker, or several coworkers, from the music industry?

The smell intensified enough to alarm me. I stood, ready to confront a potential stalker. I would drain them dry if they would not reveal the truth, including whether they intended to harm Andy, and, by proxy, my beloved!

As I flew towards the door of my apartment, my apprehension grew. Andy's essence was so intense in my nostrils, dread gripped my gut. I had never sensed anyone that smelled so strongly of my paramour but Andrew or Andy, something must be terribly wrong! No!

I tore the door to my apartment right off its hinges in my haste, and there he stood! "(Y/N)!" Andy looked so happy, what was he doing here?

"Andy, it's not safe for you..." I trailed off abruptly. The man I was talking to had no tattoos on his neck, arms, or anywhere else. His eyes were a familiar pinkish-gray. And when he smiled, a bloody tear escaping from the corner of an eye, his fangs were even longer than mine!
