The Seventh Ranger

Chapter 2

So where are you from exactly? How did you get here? Why did you walk? I say to myself thinking of all the things the rangers would ask me if they knew who I was. I'm alone now. Nowhere to go, nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. It's now just me and the world. If I can run away from Dayu and the moogers, I could keep away from the other rangers until my brother got here. Right?

Mike's POV

"So Jayden. You said you had a thought on who that white ranger could be. Who do you think it was?" I ask when we get back to the Shiba House.

"I just had a thought. Her moves were a bit sloppy but effective. They looked almost like they taught themselves. Then again she, like Emily, wasn't effected by the nighlok's insults. So I'm guessing that she just keeps telling herself not to listen to the nighlok when it's insulting her," Jayden replies.

"But that didn't answer my question," I say.

"Well to tell the truth I thought it was one of my friend's sisters. But they moved away a long time ago so it couldn't have been her. It still could be but we would have to find and catch her before we can talk to her and find out who she is," he answers.

"So that's it then. We're going to catch her and find out who she is," Kevin says.

"It's not that easy Kevin," Mentor tells us. "The White Ranger also appears to be able to morph into the Silver Ranger. You would also have to find her first."

"Well I'm with you guys on finding this White Ranger as long as we don't hurt her," Emily agrees.

"So I guess we're looking for her then," Mia said and we all ran out the door to try and find the white ranger in the city.

Mia's POV

"So what exactly are we looking for then?" Kevin asks as we get into the city.

"Just listen. Just for something you don't hear every day around here," Jayden answered and we all paused a moment to listen.

"Hiya!" a distant voice yelled and there was a crack and then a thump.

"What was that?" I ask looking around.

"Let's go find out," Emily said and we ran in the direction of the noise.

When we finally got to the area where the noise was coming from, we looked in a gate and saw, the White Ranger trying to hang a punching bag back on a tree.

"Stupid thing. I hit it once and it falls," She complains and desperately tried to hang it again.

We just watched as she tried over and over to hang the bag on the tree again until she finally got it, fastened it, and started practicing again.

"I really shouldn't be complaining. This is better than what I've been practicing with," the White Ranger mutters under her breath.

"So do we try to catch her now or do we wait?" Mike whispered anxious to find out who this mysterious White Ranger was.

"We'll have to surround her. Mia, Emily, you guys go around the back. Mike you go over to the opposite side, and Kevin you stay here. When you're in position wait for me to signal you. I'll just whistle," Jayden tells us and we all split up.

When he whistled, we all jumped over the walls of the fence to find the White Ranger sitting on the roof of the building that was behind her.

"You didn't really think I'd be that easy to catch did you?" She asks. "What do you want then rangers?"

"We just want to talk to you," Jayden tells her.

"No you don't you want to find out who I am. You want me to go down there so you can try to get me by surprise but it won't work. I'm not coming down no matter what you say," she replies.

"I promise we just want to talk to you. If you want to power down it's your choice. You don't have to if you don't want to," Jayden reassured her.

"Fine. But if any of you try and make me power down you'll find yourself flat on the ground you hear?" She replied and jumped down from the roof.

"So who are you exactly? Like what's your name?" Mike asks straight away.

"Lauren Brookes," the White Ranger replies quickly.

"No it isn't. I recognize your voice. Your name isn't Lauren Brookes, it's Megan Jones. Your sister's name is Lauren," Jayden corrects.

"Wait a minute. So you did notice me when we were kids?" The White Ranger asks shocked that Jayden had evidently guessed her name.

"How could I not notice you? You were always buzzing around wanting to know what Antonio and I were doing then whenever we tried talking to you, you became quiet and shy," Jayden replies.

"Really?" she asks then powers down.

The White Ranger was tall with long brown hair and sweet brown eyes.

"So, um, this is kind of awkward. Who are the rest of you? I mean I know your ranger colors but I don't know your names," The White Ranger said.

"Well you know me," Jayden replies then introduced the rest of us. "This here is Kevin. He's the Blue Ranger but you already knew that. Yellow and Pink Rangers are Emily and Mia. And that next to you is Mike. He's the --"

"Green Ranger. I know. Um hi. So I'm Megan. If you didn't hear Jayden already," she replies re-introducing herself.

"Just a random question but how old are you?" Mike asks.

"Mike! You shouldn't ask a woman her age!" I scold.

"It's fine. Um, Mia right? I really don't mind. I'm not that old," Megan replies. "I'm a year younger than my step-brother Antonio and Jayden."

"So you're sixteen?" Jayden asks.

"You're seventeen are you not?" Megan answers with another question.

"Wait..... Antonio's your step-brother?" Jayden asks.

"He is now," Megan said.

"Cool.  So could she come to the Shiba House Jayden?" Emily asks.

"Wait the Shiba House is still around?" Megan asks.

"Um yeah why wouldn't it be?" Kevin asks.

"I don't know, natural disaster or is there like a protection spell around it?"

"Sure she can come but you can't see where it is exactly," Jayden tells us.

"I already know where it is," Megan replies. "I used to hang around you and Antonio there all the time. I don't see why you're acting like you can't trust me now. You don't know what I've been through these past two weeks."

"What have you been through these past two weeks since you brought it up?" I ask her.

"Well, I've been walking from where Antonio and I live now to here for the past week and a half. Then yesterday I was kidnapped by Dayu and her crew of moogers and just barley escaped today," Megan answers. "I've just been roaming around since, met some nice guys named Bulk and his nephew, Spike. They're really funny and strange. Bulk is supposidly teaching Spike the way of the samurai. It was kind of funny when they were showing me."

She looks nice enough. I think listening to Megan talk and laugh with the rest of the team. The only thing I didn't really like would be that she was paying an awfully large amount of her attention towards Mike. I always thought Mike and Emily liked each other. Now some new ranger comes and basically starts to flirt with Mike in front of Emily. I wonder how she feels right now.

"So are we going back or what?" I ask.

 "Yeah let's go," Jayden said and we leave back to the Shiba House.
