Five Days Later

Alex's PoV

So Robert finally get to leave this hospital today. Courtney stayed with him the whole time hoping he would remember something. I'm here to pick them both up.

"Maybe kissing her will jog your memory," I suggest.

"I'm not kissing a girl I met five days ago!" Robert protests.

"You've know her for longer than that!"

Robert rolls his eyes.

"So you remember everyone except the girls, Ryan, and Adien?"

"Yupp."

"What about Josh?"

"Who?"

I sigh.

"Uh Alex?" Courtney asks coming in the room.

"Yeah?" I ask her.

"Everything is in the car. We can leave now."

"You didn't have to do that by yourself."

"It's not like I had anything else to do! Andrea went home three days ago, because all you guys were being too lovey. She felt left out, because she doesn't have anyone anymore. So I can't hang with her. And Robert's been in here ignoring me! He doesn't even remember me!" she yells tears threatening to fall. She looks at Robert for a split second then runs out of the room.

"Make your way to the car I'll be right back," I say then run after her.

She goes to the car and sits in the passenger side locking herself in.

I take the emergency spare out of my wallet then get in the drivers side.

"Alex," Courtney says. "I don't get how I'm suppose to do this."

"What's 'this'?" I ask a little worried.

"Only Kaylei, Jayde, my doctor, and I know about this."

"Courtney, what is it?"

She takes a deep breath then says, "Alex, I'm pregnant."

"You-You're what?!"

"You know what I said!"

"You have to tell him!"

"But he doesn't even remember who I am."

"You still need to tell him!"

Robert knocks on the window.

I unlock the doors.

"Tell who what?" Robert asks getting in the car.

"Nothing," Courtney says buckling up then turning so she's facing the window.

We drive in silence besides the radio.

"Up next we have 'A Million Days' by Forev-"

Courtney changes the radio station and 'Wrecking Ball' is playing. She changes it again. 'Stay'.

"Fuck you," Courtney mutters then just turns off the radio.

"Geeze girl calm down," Robert mumbles.

"Stop the car!" Courtney yells.

I pull over then ask, "What's wrong?"

Courtney gets out.

I get out and run over to her, "What are you doing?"

"We're five blocks from the house. I'm walking."

"I can't let-"

"Yes you can and you will."

"There's no stopping you is there?"

"Nope."

I sigh then say, "Fine."

I get back in the car then drive away.

"Wha-" Robert starts.

"Shut up!" I yell. I turn the radio back on and put it on the original station. the end of a commercial plays then 'A Million Days' starts playing.

We arrive at the house.

I carry everything in, Robert following behind me. We walk into the house.

"Where's Courtney?" Austin asks.

"She wanted to walk the last five blocks," I say.

"And you let her?" Kaylei asks.

"There was no stopping her."

Everyone tells Robert welcome back and hugs him one by one. Being careful of his left side where he had to have surgery.

Courtney walks in. She looks at Robert for a second then runs up the stairs.

SLAM!

Austin starts to walk towards the stairs.

"Austin," I say grabbing his arm. "Trust me she wants to be alone."

Robert's PoV

After a few minutes I go upstairs and find Courtney's room. I'm guessing it's the one with a C on it.

"Courtney," I say walking in. "Can we talk?"

"Go away!" she yells then puts a pillow over her face.

"Please?"

"I have nothing to say to you!"

"Just listen then. I think we should break up."

"You what?!" she asks sitting up and facing me.

"I think we should break up because I don't remember you. I'm going to try and regain my memory, but for now I think it'll be for the best."

"The best for you maybe!"

"What's that suppose to mean?!"

"Nothing! Never mind!"

"Tell me!"

"So now you're interested in what I have to say?!"

"I'm sorry!"

"Who told you you could come into my room?! Get out!"

"No!"

"GET OUT OF MY ROOM!!!" she yells then points to the door.

"No!"

She clenches both her fists at her sides. She takes a deep breath then opens her mouth to say something, but stops. Tears start falling from her eyes.

I walk closer to her.

She backs away.

I lightly touch her arm.

"Don't touch me," she says.

"I'm sorry. I don't know why I started yelling."

"You aren't sorry. You've probably been wanting to break up with me since we started dating."

Before I can say anything, she walks out of the room.

I follow her. "Courtney! Courtney wait!"

She walks out of the house, slamming the door behind her.

Everyone looks at me.

"What did you do?!" Kaylei yells walking over to me.

"I broke up with her," I say.

Kaylei slaps me across the face.

Okay, I deserved that.

"Why would you yell at her though?!" Kaylei asks.

"I don't know why I was yelling."

"Oh gosh," Alex says. "What have you done?"

"What do you mean?"

He looks at Kaylei then says, "Tell him."

We all look at Alex confused.

"About the thing," he says then puts his arm around Sarah's stomach.

"How do you know?" Kaylei asks him.

"She told me before we left the hospital."

"What are you talking about babe?" Sarah asks.

"Tell him," Alex says again.

"Tell me what?" I ask.

"Hold on," Kaylei says. "So, you're telling me you don't remember anything about Courtney? You don't remember the shy mute girl? You don't remember her trying to commit suicide and being oh so close to succeeding? You don't remember laying in her bed with her? Her waking up and the first word out of her mouth in three years being your name? Valentines Day? Her birthday? Josh? The X-Factor? You don't remember any of that?!"

A tear falls from my eye, "Not really."

She slaps me again.

The memories from when I met her to when she woke up form the coma come flooding back.

I fall to the ground and start crying. Not caring that it hurt my side when I fell. What-what have I done?!

"What's the thing?" I ask.

"What?" Kaylei asks bending down.

"What Alex was talking about, what was it."

"I think she should tell you."

"But she left. I-I broke up with her."

"Go get her."

"Where would she have gone?"

"Call her."

I pull out my phone and go to my contacts. "None of them say Courtney. What's her number?"

Kaylei grabs my phone and finds it for me. When she hands it back, I put it to my ear.

It rings once then goes to voice mail.

"Her phone is off," I say. I look at her contact name 'My One And Only'. I start crying harder.

"Let's give her a few hours then try again," Rachel says.

"Okay."

The girls go to the kitchen to start lunch, the guys go to the living room to watch TV or something, and I just stay on the ground.

After about a two minutes, Sarah comes over to me and helps me up.

"Thanks," I say.

"You're welcome. I think you should go back up to Courtney's room. See if anything can jog your memory," Sarah says, kisses my cheek, then goes back to the kitchen.

I look up the stairs for a minutes then slowly walk up them. I got back to Courtney's room.

Three Hours Later

Courtney's PoV

I don't know what I'm doing. I don't even know if she still lives here, let alone still likes me.

I knock.

After a few minutes she answers the door. "Courtney?!" she asks/yells then hugs me.

"Hi Valerie," I say hugging her back.

"What are you doing here?" she asks when we pull away.

"I just needed to get away for a while. I'm not ready to face my parents and I don't wanna bug my sisters."

"You're always welcome here."

I smile at her.

"Come on in."

We go sit in her living room.

"You know, when you left the school, you didn't have to never talk to me again."

"I figured since everyone else started hating me, you did too."

"Are you crazy?! You were my best friend!"

"I'm sorry."

"It's okay. What have you been up to?"

"Did you not hear?"

"Hear what?"

"I won the X-Factor. So I've been in LA."

"Ohmygosh that's awesome!"

I smile at her again then ask, "How about you?"

"Me? Not much really."

"That's always fun."

She laughs then says, "Yeah."

"You dating anyone?"

"Do you remember Brandon, Brandon Davidson?"

"Yeah."

"I'm dating him."

"I always thought you two would be cute!"

"What about you?"

I look down at my hands in my lap then say, "I was."

"What happened?"

"He got in a car crash and lost his memory. He doesn't remember me so he broke up with me."

"That's horrible."

I don't say anything. I just continue to look down at my hands.

"What's wrong?"

"It's just, I didn't get a chance to tell him."

"Tell him what?"

"I'm pregnant, with his children."

"Children?"

"Twins."

"Oh. My. Gosh."

I put my head in my hands.

"It's okay. This is a wonderful thing."

"But I'm only 17, and Robert, he's gone."

"Just give him time. If he lost his memory he could regain it. Does he know?"

"No."

"Does he, or anyone else, know where you are?"

"No."

"You should tell someone."

I sigh then take out my phone and turn it on. It blows up for about fifteen minutes. I have a million calls and texts from everyone.

I just ignore them and call Kaylei.

Ring.

Ring.

R-.

"Courtney Alameda Stone!!! Where the hell have you been?!"

"I'm at Valerie's."

"You're in Idaho?!"

"Yes."

"I'm coming to get you!"

"No."

"Why not?"

"I want Robert to come."

"Okay."

There's a pause.

"Robert Rene Villanueva! Get your ass down here right now!"

"What? I don't have time for this! I need to find her!" Robert yells.

"She on the phone! Now stop your damn yelling!"

I hang up.

I turn to Valerie then say, "I believe he is on his way."

"Are you hungry?"

"Starved. Let's eat?"

"Agreed."
