Detective Inspector, Spencer Gates, sat lazily at her desk with her legs kicked up upon it and her laptop open to Netflix. Another day at the office. And by that, its another day of doing absolutely nothing. For years this has been her life. After she left the family "business" she went to New York to pursue her career in crime. It took ages, but she made it to the top and now that she did, it was a surprisingly slow job. But she didn't care. She gave up everything for this job.
Unfortunately she wasn't going to keep it very much longer.
Billy, her assistant who had an obsessive crush on her, open her door shyly. "Ms. Gates? You have a visitor."
Spencer quickly threw her legs off the table and shut her laptop. "Uh thank you Billy. Send 'em in." Billy gave a nervous nod and opened the door.
Of the things Spencer has seen on this job, nothing prepared her for this. A tall man walked in with a grin plastered upon his face. He cocked his head as he said, "Hey, sis."
Spencer didn't know whether to run and hug him or send him out of her office. "Hiya, Ben," she awkwardly smiled at her brother. He just watched her with curious eyes. She couldn't take it anymore and ran to him, wrapping her arms around him tightly. "What are you doing here?"
He smiled down at her. "Well, uh, I need some help."
Her grin disappeared and she stepped back a bit. "This isn't about that treasure is it?" He gave her a small shrug and a grin full of desperation. "It is! Ben it's folly. You know that."
"No it's not. That's the thing. We found Charlotte!" He emphasized his point with extreme hand gestures.
She raised an eyebrow to him only to receive a strong nod. "What do you want, Ben?"
"I want you to come with me. I've got a team and a paid trip and I just need the one family member who doesn't think I'm crazy," he explained and placed a caring hand on her shoulder. "Please, Spenc. You know I can't do this without you."
Spencer rolled her eyes in defeat. "Fine. But only because I love you."
Ben grinned in victory. "But of course. I'll see you tomorrow!"
"Wait tomorrow? What's tomorrow?" She asked hurriedly.
"We're leaving. I've got you a ticket. I can text you the details, but I have to go. I'm meeting my friend Riley to get him up to speed." Ben didn't spare a second as he practically bounded out of the door. Spencer, jaw dropped, stood their in astonishment as she regretted her decisions.

Around 3:30 in the morning, Spencer woke to her phone having a seizure. Groggily she picked it up, groaning at the bright screen, and read a text from Ben reading:
Meet me at Central Park at 5. Our plane leaves at 9:30. Bring layers.
She sighed as she actually dragged herself out of bed and attempted to get ready. She threw on an outfit and by the time she was ready it was 4:45. By the time she finally found Ben it was 5:06.
"Spencer! Here, I'd like you to meet everyone." Ben did a short introduction and in return she got a few hellos and a dorky smile from Riley.
Ian came up to her and grabbed her hand kissing it lightly. "Pleasure to meet you Ms. Gates. I never knew Ben had such a beautiful sister." Spencer blushed hard. She knew he was just being a flirt, but she let it slide because she enjoyed his accent.
"Well Spenc. Now that you know everyone, I think it's time we start our hunt," Ben stated leading the group.
