Me and Charlotte spent the evening scrolling through Instagram, double tapping every now and then on pictures that we'd seen a million times of Anna. Her premiere for Drinking Buddies is only a week away and my mum said we can go, seeing as it's only a few streets away from where I live.
Charlotte's phone buzzed and a squeal escaped from her mouth.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Anna posted, quickly check it out!" She smiled.
I opened Anna's Instagram account and clicked on her recent post.
It was a photo of my hometown with my school in the background. It was captioned: "I can't wait to meet all of you weirdos at the DB premiere next week! Lots of love."
"She's. Here. Oh my god." My eyes widened.
"That's our school, Bea! She was stood a street away from our school."
"I-I can't believe it."
"Well you better, quickly. I think we should both start mentally preparing ourselves or we'll both implode when she comes near." She winked and double-tapped her screen.
"Charlotte. What if she talks to us? What if we don't say a word because we're in shock or something and she thinks we're weird." I looked down and fiddled with my ring.
"Hey, don't worry about that, i'm sure we'll muster up the courage to talk when it gets to the real thing." She hugged me.
"Do you want to tell me what really happened in class today?" She raised her eyebrows and held my hand.
"It's nothing, honestly. I was just really tired and I fainted then my teacher took me to the nurses. I don't remember anything after that." I diverted my eyes away from hers and smiled as normal as I could.
"Okay, if you ever want to talk you know i'm here for you right?"
"Of course, same here. I love you."
"Love you too, Bea. I'm sorry, my mum will be worried if I don't get back before dinner. See you tomorrow."
We hugged again and she left.
I was debating whether to tell her what Miss Smith said but I thought it was best not to, she has drama club and the next school production to worry about. Besides, i'm talking to someone now so it's not a big deal.
--------
"Bea! Time to get up for school." Mum shouted.
"Coming!" I murmured and got out of bed.
I pulled on my black, ripped jeans and black boots and a jean jacket. I ran downstairs and grabbed the toast from my mums hands and kissed her goodbye.
"See you later." I grabbed my bag and breathed deeply.
"Let's go." I whispered to myself.
My earphones blared music into my ears as I stepped towards the yellow mass full of my apparent fellow students, when in reality, they're just animals that never fully developed. My heart settled when I saw Charlotte sat at the back, in the only quiet spot.
"Hey, bitch."
I slid into the chair next to her and said:
"Says you!"
She smiled and grabbed one of my earphones.
I got my ticket for the long way round,
Two bottles of whisky for the way.
I smirked to myself and closed my eyes.
The Climb finished as we pulled into school and we pulled our earphones out.
"Ready?" We looked at each other and nodded.
I grabbed her hand and we got off the bus.
"Alright lesbos? You gonna faint today, fatty?" Sarah laughed.
"Ignore them, it's okay. Their opinions don't matter."
"Sarah. There's no need for that, my office now." Miss Smith nodded at me.
I smiled to myself.
"What was that? I've never seen a teacher tell her off before. By the looks of it, Sarah's pretty shocked too."
We laughed and linked arms.

Period 4, English.
"Get out your Romeo and Juliet books please and turn to page 20."
We got out our books and started reading.
We never read by ourselves, Miss always read with her different accents.
She sniffed at the front and hid behind her computer.
I looked away and saw Sarah looking at me. This was enough to snap me back to reality.
*50 minutes later*
"Class, you can pack up your things and go a little early to lunch for behaving yourselves."
Everyone stood up and packed away, with Sarah staying behind everyone to knock Miss' books from the edge of her desk by 'accident'.
"Let me help." I rushed forward and picked up the books.
Hidden between the pages was a picture of a girl about 16 with the same blue eyes as Miss.
"Is this you?" I ask, smiling and placing the books back on her desk.
"Yes. I was 16, almost 17 then." She smiled a small smile, wiped her eyes and took the picture from me. "I keep it to remind myself of the happy girl I was and as a way of telling myself that I can be the person I want to be. That is my goal, to be this person again."
"That's lovely." I smiled again and straightened her books.
"I'm sorry, i'll be okay soon. How are you doing?" She sniffed again and wiped both eyes.
"It's okay, i'm sorry she's so mean. I think you're a strong and beautiful person. Also, you're bloody hilarious."
"Thank you, Bea." She laughed.
"On a positive note, I haven't hurt my self for a week." I smiled.
"That's really good, Bea! I'm so proud of you. I think it might be time to tell your family, I know you don't want to but once they know you might be able to open up to them about it. One of my biggest regrets is not telling my mum."
"Urm...okay if you think it's best."
My heart started racing and I pressed my hands together.
