A few days past since Lucy had earned brand new scars on her body. She hadn't seen Zeref since then either and, having been in too much pain to escape, she'd been hiding in her room ever since even though the event had taken place a few paces away from her Queen sized bed. The curtains remained closed even when the sun finally rose and Lucy was leaning against the headrest, her blonde hair in a messily done side braid. The white sheets were pulled up to her waist and she wore plain black shorts with a white tank top. A bandage was wrapped around her right shoulder, the pain gone but she was too afraid to reveal her new guild insignia. Her hand was also bandaged and it still hurt, the thought of even bending her fingers made Lucy squirm.
The memory of smashing the poker on top of the Fairy Tail mark brought tears to her eyes. She still couldn't believe that she had done it and couldn't figure out why it had happened. The thought of Natsu at the time had made her blood boil and suddenly she was screaming from the agony of the mark being melted off. She probably could get another one if it ever reunited but she had loved where the pink insignia had been put and the idea of unwrapping the bandage to see the mess it had become made Lucy silently think that Fairy Tail might never rejoin.
By the sound of her stomach rumbling and the acknowledgement that there wasn't any food in her room, Lucy forced herself to pull back the covers, revealing her bruised legs from her time in the dungeons and pushed herself out of bed. Her legs wobbled for a minute before she regained her strength and exited the confinement of the bedroom.
As she figured her way around the twisting hallways of the mansion, Lucy's ears perked at the sound of voices down the stairs. Silently leaning over the railing, her eyes fell upon two men entering the mansion, the large doors slamming shut behind them. One of them was Xavier, his large figure being so noticeable Lucy almost threw up at the memory of what he did to her spirits. The other man she didn't know but he looked around her age and he seemed to be complaining by the long ride here. He had brown hair and he reached Xavier's shoulders, meaning he was taller than Lucy.
Confidently, Lucy made her way down the stairs, just realizing she had no shoes on and that the marble was cold against her feet. The two glanced up at her approach and Xavier said nothing, just gave her a stern nod which she didn't return. Instead she glared at him which, by the look on his face, he knew he deserved. The brown haired man smiled at her and to her surprise, it was warm.
"You must be the infamous Lucy Heartfilia," he stated and his voice reminded Lucy of Gray Fullbuster, especially by the way he said his words. When she stood directly in front of him, he grabbed her non-bandaged non-burnt hand and lifted it to his lips, kissing the top of her hand gently. Lucy was taken utterly aback but said nothing when he dropped her hand and straightened up. "I'm Nothing Blue, pleasure to meet you."
"Your name is Nothing?" She didn't mean to sound rude when she spoke but the fact that someone would name their child Nothing was quiet worrying.
He laughed. "Yeah, it's quite strange isn't it?"
She smiled and the three of them stood in silence for a moment. Suddenly there was a loud bang and Lucy whirled around to see a young boy, around eleven years old, trying his hardest to kick down a post on the railing of the stairs. Lucy frowned, watching him steadily until he succeeded, which caused him to howl loudly in pleasure. When his eyes met hers, he smiled revealing sharp teeth similar to a shark's.
"Onee-Sama!" He screamed, bolting in her direction. Before Lucy could get a word out, he ran into her full force causing both of them to fall to the ground with a loud thud. He landed on top of her and for such a small child, he weighed a ton.
Lucy groaned at the impact, sitting up on her elbows and looking down at the little boy who currently sat in her lap, looking at her with the brightest and kindest eyes. "I'm Ruby! You're Lucy, right?! I've wanted to meet you for so long, but master said you were going through girl problems and that if I tried talking to you, I'd get killed."
