Takara was walking for another ten minutes before arriving at her destination. She let a smile slip onto her face. It had been five years after all.
She knocked softly on the door. A young man in a familiar white lab coat, whom she'd known since Junior High as well, opened it.
"You are..." he drifted off, eyes glancing behind a wall where a black, smoke-like substance was emitting. A larger smile grew on the curly-haired girls face.
"Celty, you have a visitor!" Shinra called with an ever-present smile lighting up his face.
A figure in black emerged from behind the nearby wall. This figure, however, did not have a head. Just as Takara remembered. The startled Dullahan ran up to her and hugged her, with the brunette returning the hug.
Within seconds, the headless woman portrayed many messages on the PDA she carried.
"You're back! I missed you! I can't believe it! You've changed so much!" and then she asked questions. "Why are you back? How was schooling? How come you didn't tell me?!"
She was quite an unusual best friend, but she was still a best friend. Yes, the Psychology major and the town Dullahan were the closest of friends. She was definitely interesting which was what drew the brunette to the headless woman. Rumors and legends claim she is a vial, demonic beast. But those theories could not be more incorrect.
"Yes, I'm back. You're the same as ever!" Takara said joyfully. Celty quickly led her to the couch in the living room where they would do nothing but talk for hours. She typed a few letters on her PDA and showed it to Shinra who was now just observing the occasion.
"Make us coffee." she demanded. The curly-haired woman just laughed as the man in the lab coat proceeded to make the drinks.
"I wanted it to be a surprise." Takara laughed. Just then, something clicked within the clockwork of the woman's mind. If she had not found out about her arrival just when the woman appeared at the door, then she must have found out just recently, in the past couple of hours or so. Then, she remembered some of the personalities of those she met online; the warm, welcoming, kindness from a certain person in the Dollars chatroom. The brunette had another theory that she didn't dare ask in the moment.
"Well, you surprised me!" if Celty could squeal, she would.
Similar to teenagers in high school, the two women stayed on the couch for several hours conversing about every possible topic, reminiscing, and considering events in the future. However, one topic caught her off-guard.
"Have you talked to Izaya yet? He really seemed to miss you."
Takara sighed. Him, of all people? "There's no way he missed me. All he's been doing since I saw him today is pestering me." she said lazily.
"Oh, but he did! There's no way he'd admit to it, but he always complained about being bored without you around." Celty typed quickly.
"It's like every second of the day, he wants to get under my skin so badly and it tests my sanity. All he wants to do is see me break." she said it like she felt. This was her theory.
"He definitely missed you. I'm sure he just wants to be around you."

Fully awake, Takara was now walking back to her small apartment from the place in which Shinra and Celty stayed. The sun was now set, but it wasn't too late in the evening. She was elated with joy from her visit with her best friend.
"Is Taka-chan finally free to spend time with me?" a song-like voice said behind her. The brunette turned to face a gleaming smirk. The information broker had his hands in his pockets as if he was waiting for Takara to approach him and embrace him. She smirked. He sure had wild fantasies.
"I'm free, but I'm not sure I want to spend that free time with you." she said, crossing her arms across her chest.
"Well, suck it up. Cause I get what I want, and I want to spend it with the most interesting human I know." Izaya began to walk towards her.
"You still sound like a sadistic stalker." she mumbled. The raven-haired man reached her side and placed an arm around her shoulders. Takara stepped out of his grasp, causing the man to pout again. "No touching." she ordered.
"So mean!" he auburn eyes showed no emotion, but his voice whined. "It's dangerous out here at night. You should have someone protecting you~" Izaya began to speak in a sing-songy tone again.
"I think being around you is the dangerous aspect." the brunette said matter-of-factly. The black-haired man skipped around the woman, proceeding to walk her home.
"From what I remember, you like danger~" he sung.
"It's pretty much my job."
"Oh, funny. Mine too." a smile stretched across the devious man's lips. "Why do you work for someone as boring as the police? They don't get news quick enough." he began to whine again.
"Because they give me money. Good money." Takara stated. Ideally, she would like to have a more interesting job, but this is the best she could get while doing what she was good at: analyzing crimes.
"I know a job that can pay you better, and you can still do whatever it's -" he was interrupted
"Criminal Psychology."
"Right. You can still do Criminal Psychology with this job." he grinned mischievously. The woman raised an eyebrow, signaling for him to continue. Izaya took the opportunity to place his strong hands on the brunette's shoulders and stare into her hazel eyes. All she wanted was for him to get on with it.
"Work for me. You -" he was interrupted again.
"No."
"But why not. It'll be fun~" he whined. "Like old times~" he attempted to pull Takara into a hug, but she pushed away and walked towards her apartment.
"Never again."
