~Chapter seven~

I look down at the man's body, his blood on my hands.

The knife was still clenched in my hand, my grip on it tight.

I.. I killed him...

Hadrian was sprawled out on the ground, his sparkling purple robe caked with sticky blood.

I can't believe...

My friends...

They would have never done this.

I need to get back and help the boy-

THE BOY!

I rushed to his cell, seeing ripped open bars.

My heart started to pound, beating faster and faster.

I ran to Jesse's cell, seeing ripped open bars, blood on the wall, and an incapacitated boy.

And...

And...

"Ellie?" 

I turned toward sorren, tears in my eyes.

"W-what happened?!" I asked, examining the boy.

Sorren looked sad.

"I knew the boy was about to kill Jesse... I sent Ivor to go shut down PAMA's mainframe..." Sorren stopped, looking guilty. "It's just... he didn't have much humanity left anyway."

I looked at Lukas.

Poor little Lukas, who would never hurt anything...

A robotic demon...

Was gone.

"Ellie... I'm sorry.... I didn't mean to-"

"HE DIDN'T DESERVE TO DIE!" I snapped, making Jesse and Sorren flinch. "IF YOU HAD WAITED FOR ME- NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE EVER HAPPENED!"

Suddenly, Petra ran in with the other members of the new order.

I whipped my head around, seeing the broken faces of the children that were once so strong.

Olivia looked at Lukas, covering her face.

Petra had tears gathering in her eyes...

And Axel was... he was just... vacant.

I felt tears in my own eyes, knowing that the only person who could see the blood on my hands was Sorren.

"We need to go. Now." Growled Sorren, eyeing me.

The others didn't seem to respond.

"Olivia, we need to go." I say, focusing on transferring my voice into her mind.

"E-ellegaard?" She asked, her voice strained.

"I-its me... I'm here for you."

"Petra..."

The voice sounded like Gabriel's.
