Chapter 1

[..Jane Harriette's POV..]

Every one of us has their own stories to share. Some are tragic, some are happy and some are just simple. But none of it was boring. However my story was a bit full of twists and turns unlike any other teenagers here in the world. Thus every single part of it was worth to remember. Even if it's hard, I will survive. And to survive I'll just enjoy every little detours in my life.

By the way my name was Jane Harriette Morgan. Yep you heard me right. That was my name before my biological parents, which is The Clayton, showed up on my foster parent's house one day. I remember it so clearly when they showed up. I was readying to go to school when someone rings our doorbell. It's six in the morning and I thought it's just one of my team mates or any of my friends stopping by.

But when I open the door there stood a man and a woman, which I think are a couple, who's approximately around 40 to 45 years old. And they were looking for my parents. At first I thought it's not a big deal. I thought they were just my parent's clients because my parents are both architect and they were known in the industry, so I didn't pay much attention. And I just hurried myself to go to school.

Everything's great and my day are running smoothly. But what happened next was the most unexpected thing that happens in my life. I was going to my next class when my mom called me. She was sniffing and she's breathing heavily. Her voice was so thick, that's when I knew she's crying.

"Mom what's wrong?" I asked her as I went inside to an empty room to minimize the noise outside the school corridor.

"B-baby I want you to come home right now. I need to tell you something important. I already called the principal and your coach. So you don't have to worry about skipping your class and volleyball practice." She said not even answering my question.

She even dropped the call. She didn't even let me respond to her. What's happening to her? Did she lose some of her major clients? But why is she calling me instead of dad? She never let me skip the class before, not until now. Where is dad? Does he know mom was crying? Well maybe dads with her and she just want us to be with her in this very tough time. 'Well that was convincing' my subconscious just pops out of nowhere. I couldn't agree with her more. I really do convincing myself. Because right now that's the only thing I can do to ease my worries.

A lot of bad things running inside my head, that I didn't notice the traffic lights are red. I almost bump onto a color black and a hint of red lamborghini. I step on the break of my Audi A3 so hard that the impact pushed me forward if weren't for the seatbelt I would knock my head to the stirring wheel. And that could be a fatal blow. I silently thanked God for guiding me and for keeping me away from harm. I know that todays generation, almost all teenagers are neglecting their faith in God. Well apart from me. I believe in Him. And I Always will.

"Hey! Aren't you gonna say sorry? You almost killed us both!" The man said angrily as he approach my car, knocking my window. It seems that they were four of them but the rest of his company stayed at his car.

I really don't have time to argue with him. Though I really am at fault not noticing the red traffic lights. So I should be the one lowering my pride.
