Chapter 5: The Sleepover

//katie's pov//
ding dong!
i jump up from the couch and run toward the door. i quickly peak through the window to make sure it was the person i as expecting and swung open the door.
"KATIEEEE!" annie screams, her mom behind her carrying her bags.
"ANNIEEE!" i scream in reply. i attempt to give her a hug, but it ends up awkward because of her crutches.
i walk back inside so that she can come in and i grab her sleeping bag from her mom.
"are you girls exited?" mrs. katie asks.
"yesss!" we say in unison, which makes mrs katie laugh.
"is your mom here katie? i would like to say hi," mrs. katie says.
"yeah, i'll get her," i tell her. "MOMMMMM!!" i scream. she comes running in from the living room.
"what is it katie?" she says sounding worried.
"annie's here!" i reply gleefully.
"oh gosh katie! i swear you give me constant heart attacks!" she says. annie was laughing, but now stops.sje begins to look kinda sad, so i offer to help with her bags and go up to my room.
"sure," she says. "byee mommy!" she looks at her mom and blows a kiss.
"bye annie! be careful please!"
we walk over to my room and i put her bags down on my bed. i was about to open my mouth to speak when there is a knock on my door.
"who is it?" i ask through the closed door.
//Annie's pov//
i was already having a great time at katies. laughing and smiling. and then her mom mentioned heart attack, as if it was funny. it makes me angry to think that someone doesn't even think about others. caleb. he basically had a heart attack. but whatever. i have to let it slide.
when we are sitting in katie's room, someone knocks on the door.
"who is it?" katie asks.
"it's brennan," the voice replies. the door slowly opens and he stands in the door. "can i come in?" he asks.
"well, you are basically in already so sure," she says.
"hey," i say quietly, with a small wave.
"you guys wanna do something?" he asks.
"um, sure," i say.
"i wish we had more people, cuz then we could play truth or dare!" katie says.
"i could text ydney and luke if you want," i say.
"i could call arden and liv!" she says.
"ok great! even more girls in my house!" brennan says sarcastically.
katie ignores him and runs to ask her mom first, which leaves brennan and i alone.
"so she doesn't know yet right?" i whisper.
"nope, i haven't told her anything," she whispers back. he is so cute. his deep brown eyes, dark brown hair, all add up to make one gorgeous, funny, loving guy. my thoughts are interrupted by katie running in, telling us her mom said ok for everyone to come over, so we began to text people, and everyone but Arden could come. i also asked if hayley wanted to come so she wasn't alone, and ryan would want someone to play with. i am nervous, but exited.
